Slate has my fullest respect when it comes to their plugins. Yeah, the guy himself can come across like an over-enthusiastic sales-guy at times - which I guess attracts people who think that dissing something is a measure of being cool.

And you've been around KVR from the beginning. Some might argue that KVR, for example, has become less silly overall compared to the sort of craziness and arguments that took place here in the early years!
As for Slate, I agree with you - he's an intelligent fellow who seems to believe very passionately about his products. It can come across as over zealous behaviour, but I think most producers will know he means it honestly and at least he is still looking for ways to develop the industry further.
(And no, I don't own a single Slate product because I prefer other products instead, but I can recognize someone with passion for the music industry and his role in it).
