Forgetting that they are not comparable, so what?

It's true on one hand, and yet Omnisphere excels in a few things
A few things are not enough to justify that price tag...
And comparability lies in the eye of the beholder...

Ive been-a-readin' some of these comments, people sayin' Omni in the same league as Spire and others for trance. I would bet any money those people dont actually MAKE trance nor ever have!
Omnisphere is ideal for trance in every way. Sound wise, bigger and better than anything but modulation and arpegiator is where it shines mostly for trace. The arpegiator alone.... Modulating 'speed': how many arps can do that? You can build transitions with this. Note transpositions and above all pattern lock to audition sounds, huge interface, easily changeable velocity and gate. This would without doubt make the arp the best for trance ever made.

I'm calling your bluff because you always pull this trolling garbage.

Do this with One Ping Only and FX. Duplicate the tracks exactly.

Thanks for sharing the sound demos.
Interesting to hear.

I know that you‘re in a deep emotional relationship with this Omnisphere stuff and I do not want to hurt your feelings but for me it‘s rather oldfashioned sound which can be done by this synth.

That was exciting 10-20 years ago but at least for me no longer. And to pay 500 bucks for this naughty years cliche sound is simply not worth it even if it would cost only a tenth.

But hey, some people still love German march music. It‘s their right to love it and it‘s okay. Same applies to this Omnisphere sounds.

Then by all means, show me how One Ping Only and FX can do this.

I'm still waiting.

I thought you were defending his position. My mistake.

And no, I am not in some deep emotional relationship with this synth. It is just a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. I am only stating that One Ping Only and FX can't do what Omnisphere can do, dated sound or not.

Post

....in the meantime a lot of pro musicians, composers and sound designers just use Omnisphere and it payed for itself while others bitching about it without maybe ever knowing what it can do.
Now here are the news for you all....love it or leave it.
I prefer Alchemy as my hybrid synth of choice but with the Keyscape sound sources and .tun file import plus the much better options for performance Omnisphere is better in many cases.
The usual one ping only plus FX is of course a brain fart.
It must be more a problem with the person itself to have to repeat stupid things and get emotional about a software which thousands of people are happy with.
Well, sell it and never look back. Use what you like or whatever

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, it is personal value that determines whether something justifies the price tag. However, your position was one of denying the value of general tools over specialised tools, 'cause those tools that try to do many things well, apparently don't excel. My counter was that Omni does indeed excel at certain things, and those things are what make it as popular as it is. They also help explain why it's as popular as it is, and why, for those who appreciate those certain things, the price is an absolute bargain.

And comparability is not really in the eyes of the beholder. For a true comparison, you at least need some common denominators. In the case of price, there is a very specific reason why these two things are not comparable, and why the closest comparison from the options you've offered ends up hugely favouring Omni

I'd suggest that if you were looking to find a good representation of what Omnisphere is capable of, that these sound-sets ain't it

And this:
I know that you‘re in a deep emotional relationship with this Omnisphere stuff and I do not want to hurt your feelings
You clearly know zero about Omnisphere, and so can't even make rudimentary attempts at arguments other than about expense, so you default to the fanboi/emotional nature of supporters by way of trying to undermine any real arguments that are being made. In my ay, trolls weren't so lazy
