I added 2 songs to my music website, though I think you would be most interested in hearing the song on top ("Such A Vow") since it uses Presswerk compression for the drums and the electric bass. Please tell me how you like the music, and how it can be improved, and I can return the favor if you wish. Here is the link:

Captain Beefheart meets Jello Biafra ?
As far as compression less is more.

Black Synth Hoodie,
Thank you for listening and commenting! I appreciate it! I do like the Dead Kennedys' song "Holiday in Cambodia" even though the lyrics are not exactly edifying. I can't say I was trying to sound like Jello or Beefheart, but I won't complain about the comparison. Hmm, I can't say I will win any "loudness war" with my tune (not my goal), but if you are saying I used too much compression, I will respect your opinion.

hm i dont hear beefheart. mabe a bit biafra for the voice parts. i def hear some sort of stronger stranglers/doors vibes, and because of that, i would mix the keyboard sounds a good bit more dominant. can not complain about the compression too. presswerk doing an amazing job.

anttimaatteri,
Thank you for checking out the song and replying! Are you from a particular state or country? I confess to a definite Doors influence with the 'Vox' organ. By the way, back in 1984, I performed in a band at Gazzarri's in Hollywood, where The Doors had played before. In the 1991 movie "The Doors" (with Val Kilmer), they briefly show the Gazzarri's sign as one of the places they had played. I can see why you mentioned the Stranglers, though I wasn't consciously trying to sound like them.
