MAutoVolume and acoustic guitar fret noise

Hello,

Of course we all do our best to reduce fret noise when playing acoustic guitar, although there are times where a track is just perfect and has some effects on top of it, that we want to keep it as is - w/o the fret noise. Careful audio editing can lower down those moments when it happens, although I'm wondering if a device could do more of an uniform treatment not only regarding the noise itself, but the relation of other notes to the noise.

So, do you think that MAutoVolume could help in reducing fret noise ?

...fwiw...my experience says probably not, but it's always worth a try. I use MAV fairly extensively instead of compression/etc. The only approach I've been successful with has been either melodyne or spectral editing. It's always touchy, too much and the take is "damaged," too little and the squeeks just seem to stick out...hth.../s~

You can use the noise/tonal crossover to reduce it somewhat.

If it could continuously sample a brief moment of sound then when it happens it would duck the fret noise and at the same time replace that noise with the few milliseconds of sampled sound just before that using the same envelope shape as of the ducking.
