It's darker and slightly grainy so it blends in beautifully, even on elements you want to be pristine and clean. Has been a favourite for a number of years!

Old thread is old. i did a shootout of Vintage and Room over the last couple weeks to decide which one to use as my default 'verb send. Basically they're both great and it just depends on the flavor you want. i noticed that Vintage has a little more 2D sound, more musical tail (it kind of shimmers, but not in that Shimmer/octave way) and gets out of the way of your mix better, so with a bigger arrangement, it doesn't cluster the sound around the mids as much. Room doesn't get as much love, but also great. More cluster in the mids, so you have to be careful and EQ it right, and much more fiddly, but it seems to cover the sound more fully than Vintage and give a better sense of 3-dimensional space. Great for ambient music. It can also get grungy with any of the downsampled algo's.

i went with Room because the GUI matched my DAW skin and it had algorithm names from the Alien movies. Both plugins are fantastic and no one can go wrong with either. i think the best argument for Vintage would be that the controls are much better and simpler.
