Thanks for your input! I just want a simple drum sample player (doesn't need to actually sample) to occupy the pads on my Akai Advance.
It has to work on Windows, 64bit and have decent preset management (aka will work with VIP!)
thank you!

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?

The best free drum sampler by far and away is RitMix by Soundbridge. Go to Soundbridge.io and just download RitMix you don't need to download SoundBridge which is a free DAW too.

Try Sitala. It is free and very simple (in a good way).

Let me add—at the tag end of all these recommendations—sitala. It's simple, stable, free, has 16 voices, and lets you tune samples and give them adjustable envelopes.

Registration required! But "user registration currently not allowed"
So, how to download this?

I registered then downloaded Soundbridge & RitMix last night without any bother ... maybe they're getting more hits than usual (?) . It seems that their plugins have to be authorised online too.ZeePok wrote:thecontrolcentre wrote:Looks great. Ok, RitMix is no longer Beta and now is a subscription tool.
9.99€/month.
The best alternative could be MPC Beats. The freeware version has a very extensive specsheet.
Multioutputs, multilayer samples, slicing, articulations, mixer, plugins to shape sounds, sequences...
