You sound surprised that RX7 is imminent. Would you rather they sat on stuff for many years like it was abandonware? Izotope have always used an annual release cycle for their main core products.mutantdog wrote:Less than 18 months since RX6 was released. Not in the slightest bit surprised, that's why i said i'm reluctant to buy anything from them - I know it WILL be abandonware within 18 months unless i buy the new version.v1o wrote:You sound surprised that RX7 is imminent. Now you may think that is an acceptable life cycle for a premium product, i disagree. It's not like they couldn't release new features in the form of RX6.1, other devs seem to manage this sort of thing quite easily.

I'm fine with it as long as they don't leave me having to pay for bug fixes. If it continues to work properly without having to upgrade, I'm good. I know people have to eat.

In my opinion Izotope and its Every-year-new-bundle marketing is kinda annoying.... I rather stay with companies that update their products for free and only bring out an major new version every 3-4 years. Flux, Melodyne, McDsp and even Native Instruments (Nearly every Upgrade of Komplete Ultimate has tons of interesting stuff) are great companies for example. Antares (has no Major changes), Izotope and Waves are not - in my opinion. In only bought the creative bundle and the Music Production Bundle from Izotope and have to say that I will never buy anything else from them. Every year you get the feeling you are having old software that is sh*t compare to their new software...

On the other hand iZotope's upgrade prices are consistent, which makes it quite easy to skip one or more versions. Whether you will be upgrading from RX6 or RX1 for example doesn't make a differencehusteblume wrote:In my opinion Izotope and its Every-year-new-bundle marketing is kinda annoying.... Just give me the product, price and ending date there (linked of course).

Just checked, I don't see the code in either of those places. According to the instructions:VariKusBrainZ wrote:Did y'all check your Account under Rewards or Free Productshellomrbike wrote:Likewise. The code should come in an email that is sent <= 1hr after the mailing list/item purchase process, which is what is confusing. I feel like the system they're using to collect emails must be broken somehow.

I have to admit that this is very fair. But I also have to say that I like the way Steinberg offers upgrades a bit more. I should say, that I do not have thaaaat big problem with Izotopes Pricing... I more have a problem with paying money for upgrades that do not offer much improvements
Sure, no problem

The older versions still work well. I'm using RX 4 and Ozone 5 without any problems, even with the latest version of OSX.ATS wrote:I'm fine with it as long as they don't leave me having to pay for bug fixes.
