“Vocal chain matching” with MautoDynamicEq or MautoEqualizer?

Hi all, a few years ago I recorded some vocal takes using my favourite mic, plugged into a studio’s chain. I don’t recall what that chain consisted of, although, at my request, it was very clean – no compression or EQ was added. The studio itself no longer exists.

I now find that there were a few phrases I never got quite right. I’d like to do some punch-in recording to fix those. I have the same mic, but have to use a different chain – either my own Focusrite USB thingie, or whatever my new local studio has.

The vocal is very exposed. I have a feeling that the different signal chains will make the overdubs stick out a mile away.

Can either MAutoEqualizer or MAutoDynamicEq help me? I need something that can analyze both an old session stem and a new one, done with the same mic – I will probably wear the same t shirt too, for luck – and somehow or another impart the differences onto the new stems, so my overdubs will be seamless.

Or does such a plug even exist? Has anyone actually done this?

Grateful for any help!

Circumcision's just another way of saying 'bye to the 'hood

Well, what you ask is generally impossible, but if spectral similarity is enough, then both of these EQs should give you a good start. But there you'll have a problem with the short phrases etc. But I fear your biggest problem would be reverberation of the other studio vs. your new place. Feel free to post examples of ideally the same vocal sections recorded in both places.
