Many good deals around, but this one's really ridiculous. Enjoy your new toys!!!Kurdish Mayfield wrote:I was swearing off spending but I went in anyway. I got off the Waves WUP-a-go-round years ago and never looked back. I've heard things are better now as far as having plugs from multiple versions installed simultaneously, but no matter. Something off-putting about a company that even used to do stuff the way they did.
Although that deal certainly arouses my gas...
A well-behaved signature.

The prices seem amazing until you get hit with the WUP fees imho. Then it's pretty easy to start looking at competitors who offer way more with free updates for their products over a much longer span of time until you get to a point of a paid upgrade for a particular plugin.Kurdish Mayfield wrote:great products at amazing prices....whats the mystery?sqigls wrote:why people keep supporting this company is beyond me
An easy example is Audiothing Outerspace, a wonderful RE-201 modeling plugin. Original retail price was $49 last year, went on sale frequently for about $35. (Comparable to a Waves flash sale price for their individual plugins, usually). In the span of about a year and three different updates, the developer added ten new adjustment parameters, 10 new presets, a resizable interface, improved preamp and noise sections, bug fixes, and improved cpu usage. And I didn't list absolutely everything contained in those two updates. This completely revamped and improved the function of the plugin beyond what was already great. All current owners received these updates for free, but the retail price of the plugin was increased to $70. So the "early adopters" get treated more than fairly, and now the price reflects the greatly enhanced functionality.
From what I understand for the more recent Waves updates, they've only done some simple bug fixes. Very few (if any) have resizable interfaces, and I don't see them getting greatly enhanced functionality beyond what they had 5-6 years ago. But anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that.

At this point, iZotope has not told dealers about a sale happening after 7 is released. They specifically state that all 6 purchases made now must be registered before 7 is released to be entitled to receiving the free upgrade to 7.woggle wrote:Just to put this out there again - does anyone know if it is better for an Izotope RX5 owner(ie me) to buy the current deal (upgrade to standard or advanced RX6) now, or wait for 7 and get the loyalty upgrade pricing?

I see $199.89 after using the YNY23 code at everyPlugin...

I just upgraded to Horizon for $89 over at everyplugin. They give 25% off of the price listed in my Waves update area. Not bad. Been on the lookout for a cheap upgrade price for a few years now. Finally did it. But honestly, I have no idea what v10 gets me over my v9 installer. Probably nothing other than a useless WUP renewal? Did it just to finally experience the experience of the process really. Probably just gave away $90 for that feeling of being up to date and to learn that it was a waste after all...
Also, it claimed like 17 of my v9 licenses. So... again, was it worth it? Leaves me wondering if I could have gotten it for a bit more and kept the majority of my v9 licenses? Their process is very unclear and seems to not help out us as customers to get the best deal. Profitable for them though it seems...
I also now wonder if this at least gives me the ability to load my v9 plugins on one PC and my v10 on another without issue? Probably I'm guessing. And now I have to load v9 and v10 if I want them all on one PC? That's kinda cumbersome and silly. Again, I guess the convolutedness is profitable for them... It got me to spend $90 just to understand it and get some plugins "updated".

Uncle E, is there any upgrade path to RX7 for those who already own RX6 Advanced? Thanks!
