[SOLVED] MSpectralDynamics induces 185ms latency on master bus

This is not a mix, this a session where music is being made. So there are many synths, guitars, various audio, etc.. About 40 tracks so far. At one point I noticed that there was a serious delay with a MIDI keyboard and a softsynth. Never experienced that in years. Troubleshooting the issue, it turns out that the latency is due to MSpectralDynamics sitting on the master bus, disabled. It's not even active. Removing it from the master bus solves the problem.

There are many plugins in that session, in addition to the soft synths. In the screenshot below you can the the latencies reported by Bitwig. Note that several Melda plugins on the audio tracks to the left are producing a minimal latency while MSpectralDynamics, disabled, is producing 185.5 ms all by itself.

I clicked on the icon that reports latency to the host but that did not change anything.

i feel like its the problem with your daw because in my session(i use Reaper) when i disable MspectralDynamics the latency of 8000 samples is cut down to 0 automatically.
REAPER, Phase Plant , Unfiltered Audio TRIAD and LION, NI classic collection,......... ETC

MSpectralDynamics is linear-phase so will introduce latency...it's not meant for 'live' recording.
Re Apratim's info about REAPER. Interesting that yes, disabling MSpectralDynamics removes the latency, but this is when disabling the individual plugin....if disabling at once all FX on the track with the button on the track control panel the latency is still there. So I guess there are different shades of 'disabling'. Seems like when you disable in Bitwig it's not a 'full disable'..it's still idling or something.

Thanks. This is what I was starting to suspect. Yes, I haven't read the documentation yet !

Cheers.

Don't worry, I'm not a RTFM! sort of guy.
