Hi all,
New to tracktion.
I was working on a simple drum loop in wavelab 8.1, using collective.
I was wondering how you all store and handle preprogrammed loops.
I am trying to build myself a pool of beats that I can string together for a quick background instead of programming from scratch every time.
Do you make a seperate edit and copy and paste phrases into your song? Some kind of template? Raw midi files?
Thank you,
James

Add them to your loop database. Under the Search bit in the left hand sidebar.
Highlight the loop on your timeline, click the "loop properties" tab in the properties panel, choose "Add to Library"

You want to scan any folders of beats or whatever, that you want to use, to get them into the library too.
When they're in there, you can just drag them into the timeline, when you need them. If you've added stuff like the native tempo to them, then they'll automatically stretch to fit the edit tempo.

You can save step clips as presets, if you're looking to do drum loops as hits, rather than audio. And you can save your own midi clips as patterns, and use them in the pattern generator, if you're using Waveform. And they'll follow the global chord track, and repitch to fit. So you've got various options to explore, depending what you're trying to do.
