Has Garageband hurt Tracktion on the Mac?

I can't think of a single way in which GarageBand would be 'easier' (though it may well be 'just as easy') than Tracktion. That's just a matter of perspective, though.

As for iBooks... had a friend whose iBook failed after 10 months. I'm fairly certain it was something to do with the power supply, though-- it wouldn't charge properly, and you couldn't even run it on the DC adapter, if I'm remembering correctly. He was a meticulous and knowledgable user, following the guidelines for battery drainage and recharge very carefully.

That's pretty bad. Seems to me the display was crapping out, too, though that may have had something to do with the power supply as well.

Concerning the pb, i run a 1.5Ghz one and I get plenty of performance and I haven't had any problems, to the contrary. However, i think the 1.33Ghz one had a pretty slow hd.

GarageBand doesn't hold a candle to Tracktion. It does not support tempo or time signature changes, it does not support recording rates at higher than 44.1 kHz, it does not support VST or VSTi -- all of which I need in order to record.

Apple registered the "ProBand" trademark earlier this year. It is possible that they're going to offer a more sophisticated piece of software under that name soon. If they do, maybe then Tracktion will have some real competition. But as it stands, GarageBand doesn't even come close.

I can't wait til apple ports Garageband to the PC, then adds DX support... whoah nelly... :o   :hihi:

Yeah I'm sure they will. Whatever happened to Soundtrack?? When that came out everybody was freaking out and sayd it was the next greatest thing. And then garageband came out and everybody freaked out about that. I can just imagine when ProBand comes out. Its REALLY gonna kill Tracktion then.

So Acid has disk-streaming and all? - Wow, didn't know this. :?

Yeah you're right. I'm gonna sell my PC and get a Mac with Garageband so I can have disk streaming. Either that or just get hella RAM. Which ever one is cheaper.
