If you followed my post history, I wasn't ever interested either.

But I figured out what to do to make it interesting for me.

Post

Awesome! This is amazing! I'll check this out asap! Thanks :tu:

I think you're in the minority there.

Looking forward to trying this out, Urs! :tu:

Just curious. Would it be a "no-no" to use the wavetables from Live 10 or other factory wavetables from other instruments? If that's off limits, I can just use them for my own personal amusement.

Any plan for a wavetable export feature?

Can the imported wavetable be converted into a similar sounding code version?

Great stuff! I just quickly installed the Hive demo to this out and it seems to be a lot of fun and sounds great :tu:

Just one instance of Hive using some of the demo wavetables:

I can't wait to try to make my own wavetbales! There seems to be a lot of potential there! The "2D Wavetables" are a nice and unexpected touch :tu:

I can't wait to hear them

Will they be a cross between timbales and hay bales ?
No auto tune...

I finally had the time to check this out further. I really like the "2D Wavetable" feature. I quickly made 2 synth choir-ish 2*4 frames wavetables which are somewhat related on the X and Y axis and made this patch with them:

It's possible to get quite a bit of movement going with the auto sweep feature and modulation of the sub table (Or Y axis, as I like to call it).

Delta Sign (and others),
Your mp3 demo sounds pretty cool! So hypothetically speaking, can a person just share the patch (hint hint), or needs to share the patch and the wave table, or ???
You can hear my original music at this link: https://www.soundclick.com/artist/defau ... dID=224436

Wavetables aren't going to be a part of the patch, they'd need to be shared along with the patch.

Depends on the licenses these wavetables ship with. My gut feeling tells me, it's a no-no. I strongly suggest creating your own wavetables for shipping sound sets, or clearing the issue with the original creator.

That said, we have plans to make the final set of factory wavetables available to use with other software, provided their names are not changed (and start with "Hive ..." or so).

Which brings me to this question:

Yes. It will be made available with the official release version of Hive 1.2. We left it out for now because we want to avoid any kind of copyright issue before we have a final factory set of wavetables.
Can the imported wavetable be converted into a similar sounding code version?
You mean the holy grail of data reduction? :hihi:

Like, approximate an arbitrary waveform with a thousand harmonics in three lines of code...? - I'm sure it could be done for many single cycle waveforms, but it would be very difficult to preserve the nature of transitions between mutliple cycles.

What EvilDragon says, the wavetable is not part of the patch, and an addendum: To make patch sharing easy, wavetables need not reside in the wavetables directory, they can also sit in the same folder as the patch.

(there's a couple of unresolved issues, which I hope we can deal with until release)

How did you make the choirsounds? :tu:

Hi Urs

Hope there is that nice Tx bass, Sweep and Choir in there!
Can the individual 16 frames with single cycles be exported from existing or custom Zebra Osc without the interpolation. I.e. can we have a wavetable in Hive that is identical to an Oscilator in Zebra without effects?

Post

my first try at a script with a wavetable I created in Zebra2

no filters or FX are used only a bit lfo modulation of the "WT multi pos"
