Jmg8 : exactly!
It's per cycle, like wt, but in reel time.
Combine with wt, it's incredibly powerful for osc and lfo's.

Yes, it is quite good. I used something similar from a synth called Fathom. There is a feature called skip cycle, that plays a saw (or any other shape) every 3rd (or any other number) cycle.
I would like to see a rotary OSC in MSF. It has a few good uses.
It can sound quite unique but also it kind of mixes/blends sounds, which can be helpful. For example if you have a saw wave but every 4 cycles it plays a noise shape, then the resulting sound is dirtier than a saw, but cleaner than noise.
Another use is to tame complex sounds, by adding a sine every few cycles it adds some of the fundamental back.

Wouldn't rotors be similar to using the ABCD Morphing in MPS?

Similar, but It sounds different.
ABCD morphing is an interpolation of the shapes, that creates the new shape and this is then the same for every cycle.
Rotors change the shape for each cycle.

Imagine a wavetable with 4 waves, each wave is a cycle, when you scan it, you travel from wave 1 to 2,3,4.
Rotor is the same but wave 1 is the first cycle osc1, wave 2, the first cycle of osc 2....
Now imagine, your osc are not fix cycle but wt, or osc with transform, you travel from first osc1 cycle to first osc2 cycle to first osc3 cycle to first osc4 cycle to seconf osc1 cycle to second osc2 cycle to second osc3 cycle to second osc4 cycle to third osc1 cycle....and so on...

It could be the same or it could be completely different. Honestly I'm not familiar with how either works.
How would you make the rotor thing?
It might be possible, but it would be very fast modulation.

If it works how I think I understand it. It plays a single cycle of OSC A then a single cycle of B, then C, then D, then back to A.
I don’t know for sure, but I doubt it works based on single cycles. The way they described it would be impossible if it switched between single cycles that fast. I’m 90% sure it is switching based on an LFO, which of course might be moving at audio rate. If you wanted to have 4 single cycles and move between then you can do that now with the custom shape. Although it is admittedly hard to draw them in. When you do this however the speed is based on the pitch. Using a bank and a mod is IMO more flexable and would sound like the demo clip on the site.

After some test, I was wrong, Chandler Right!
It's not by cycle.
I have a question:
It is possible to scan 4 inputs with ratio by input?

Yes easy.
Use 3. So the first ratio will have inputs from source A and B, the second ratio will have C and D.
Then the third ratio will take its input from ratio 1 and 2.
Now set the modulation speed (1/4) for ratio 1 and 2. Then for ratio 3 modulate it with half the speed of the others (1/2)
Now it will scan through ABCD in series.

Not sure why you mentioned ratio by input though. I would just use standard ratio.

As for the cycles thing, it is still a good idea to have. Even though the rotary thing is not doing it, the feature I used on a synth I mention earlier WAS doing this.
I will put it forward to Vojtech for a future OSC type.

Hehe HOPEFULLY and it's just so that we can start making some basic presets, but we are a LONG way from the end ;)

The new beta is amazing. I only played around with it for a little bit, but I was really impressed with the stuff added.

One question though. The new oscillator shaper thing, what does it do? At first I thought it was a waveshaper, but isn’t that already available. When I tried it something was happening, but I couldn’t tell what. Anyone know?

The new modal filter is awesome. There are a lot of interesting possibilities. At first I thought it was limited with only 32 filters and having then tuned to the harmonic series, but then I realized I could use 2,3 or 4 together and tune them however I wished. The CPU usage is much lower than I thought also. The MODs added directly to the module helps too. I’m sure that will allow some interesting morphs and manipulation.

Hi. The new beta is so much dope. The modal filter is a killer. Don't know what it does exactly but I like what it is doing. Thank you for the great additions I total. Becoming better each update. Cheers

Have joy.

We can do some super clean phase modulation with the new oscillator shaper and some crazy waveshaping.
