Yes - I pointed that out in post #11 on the first page. It's an extra/different synth.

Yes because it can be both a successor and an addition and exist side by side with it, really people should not fall into black and white thinking about this or get so hung up on marketing semantics.chk071 wrote:They also call it "The rebirth of a legend".

I too was thinking it was a replacement (especially because of the new Massive Expansions released so recently).krabbencutter wrote:Don't know what you're all speculating about. But I do agree now that it is clearly an addition (I imagine the Expansions will just be updated via NA to include their equivalent patches in Massive X).

My point exactly. I wouldn't know why it wouldn't be a successor, though. Why use the name if it wasn't one? You address a certain audience with a sequel to a software which was used for special use cases. They surely didn't make a string machine out of it.aMUSEd wrote:Yes because it can be both a successor and an addition and exist side by side with it, really people should not fall into black and white thinking about this or get so hung up on marketing semantics.chk071 wrote:They also call it "The rebirth of a legend".

If it follow K6s example, it will have a new coloring option and a reverb. But it will be a lot easier for preset guys to sell you their patch sets and load them in the preset browser.felis wrote:I think you've got the right answer.Igro wrote:They called is Massive X to avoid a cheap upgrade.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Doesn't look like (as in not even vaguely close) and doesn't have the same or even similar feature set... the only commonality is that the same people made it?chk071 wrote:Not sure what you mean. If it doesn't look like the predecessor, then it is no successor?
In that case RePro is the successor to Bazille which was the successor to Zebra

I'm pretty sure that you're looking at different synth picture than Massive X and that's why you cant see similaritiespdxindy wrote:Doesn't look like (as in not even vaguely close) and doesn't have the same or even similar feature set... the only commonality is that the same people made it?chk071 wrote:Not sure what you mean. Here I may help you. The same sections in both Massive and Massive X: Wavetable Osc with WT-position, filter, noise, Mod Osc, Amp, FX, 4xEnv, 4xLFO/Stepper/Perf, Voice, Routing, Perfomers.
Differences: 3xOsc in Massive when you cna see only 2xOsc in Massive X. Massive X have also new features like 'Gorilla' whatever it is. Looks pretty the same to me, just different color and GUI scheme.
