Hello linux users, I need your help:
With older Tracktion / Waveform versions I could use the lasso function (multi selection) with the OS key ("Windows key") together with left-mouse-click.
Apparently it was never thought that it should work like that and was adapted in the version 9.34 to the behavior of the other operating systems.
"The left alt key also now enables lasso mode when holding it down and then dragging with the mouse."
Unfortunately, this does not work on my computer. Alt-key does only change the cursor, nothing else.
Could you be so kind as to try this out?

' Left alt key' works fine for me to engage the lasso selection and I can then drag my selection by both left and right-mouse-click.
Waveform-9-3-4-(beta) on Linux Mint. ( this is only in song-edit mode , you just need to left-click drag in piano-roll )
My Superkey ( windows-key ) just grabs the whole window for moving or brings up my system menu if I don't click fast enough.

# do you perhaps have your left-alt key assigned for some system shortcut by mistake ? #

try this command from your terminal to see if <Alt> is wrongly assigned as a single key shortcut ( not actually 100% sure this is possible but worth a try )

gsettings list-recursively | awk '/hotkey/||/keybinding/||/media-key/' | grep Alt

Thanks mikoatkvr for trying. I tried your command, it gives me a list of keybindings.
I've tried a few and they worked, although I work with kde.
I also tried waveform now with icewm, and it showed the same behavior, which makes
me wonder if it is gnome specific.
