MSF Question: Can/Should We Bypass Inactive Per-Voice FX Modules?

The Subject line says it all. I cannot see a way to do this to begin with, but it strikes me as a desirable goal, especially as the fact that we can have many instances of the effect consuming cycles for no good reason.
I do see that the effect modules seem to turn themselves off at the end of the global envelope, at least there's that.

I asked Vojtech about this before and he said it wasn’t possible. You can turn off parts of some modules, so that might save resources(i.e. turning off the saturation in the filter). I think there is a technical reason its not possible, but I don’t know for sure. I was thinking about this, but I believe that instances of MSF will be able to run inside the FX section and I think those can be disabled. This made me rethink how to design patches. Hopefully this feature will be available soon. I think it will allow more complex patches and more possiblities.

I'm a bit lost on this, could you post a preset where this would be desirable?
Anyways at some point I'd like some system to enable/disable a module for each voice based on some condition. But I need to think about that first.

I heard you the first time!MeldaProduction wrote:I'm a bit lost on this, could you post a preset where this would be desirable?
I could post a preset, but it's easy enough to explain. Let's say that I have a tone generator module followed by a per-voice phaser, a per-voice flanger and a per-voice unison module. The user of this preset would typically never be using more than one of these. But even though all three have dry/wet controls to keep the unused modules from being heard, they remain active.
Why not be able to (smart) bypass them just as we can do with modules in the FX section?

I understand. There are some technical problems, would take longer to explain
