Since FL Studio is quite cheap and useful (rewire or VST in Tracktion) this could be interesting for many of us... Gladly I am a registered FL Studio user so I will get that update as soon as it comes out!

I think Jules responses to previous complaints about the timestretching indicate he's got the message pretty clearly...

I'd be surprised if an improved algorithm doesn't appear in T2, surely Mackie can spring for a license? (they can give away a pricey mastering plugin after all).

I hope you are right.

Right now, I use ACID 2.0 to do my time/pitch stretching.

I know Audacity ships with a time/pitch stretch utility, but it doesn't work like a plugin - just another standalone product.

I'm trying to think if the re-wire to FL would even work - since the material has to be handled as a clip of sorts in T. How would you use it?

My mental paradigm of how T should work is just like it does now - click on the clip and time or pitch stretch at will. It should work without audible artifacts for +/- 10% time changes. The length of the clip then changes to match the time stretch just asked for.

How would you ask a rewire to give this back so that the track appears correctly from a time perspective? Say you've got a 4/4 120 bpm clip that you want to match up to a 110 bpm tempo. How would you use re-wire to FL to make this happen? Or would you just let the track run in FL simultaneously with T?

Somebody suggested that Jules get that exact same timestretch algo for Tracktion a long time ago. He seemed to like the idea too

. Thats exactly how I expected it to work within Tracktion. Just drag and drop and it would stretch with the new algo. I'm sure T2 will have something. Atleast I hope so.
