LOL. But I also wish they'd rather go the "sell many" way. Sell it to all the thousands of hobbyists who use it a few times. Not only to 5 producers. And earn... millions! Expensive houses and properties! Beautiful women! Sports cars!
Personally, effects > 50 EUR is painful, > 100 EUR is a no-no. But that's just my personal prices.

I mostly meant making the old ones resizeable, because otherwise they do look quite futuristic still. However, there's something about Byome that makes it look better - probably it's the overall thicker lines used to draw its elements, that are less prone to aliasing?

Someone should make a - realistic - poll to see how much people would be willing to pay for it and link the results to UA :)

I'm betting on $99 intro price

I think it's gonna be more than $99 intro, this is essentially the culmination of several years' worth of work for the UA guys developing all these sweet algorithms. I respect them for being willing to load it all up in a single plugin rather than worry about impinging on the sales of their old plugins and making sure there's no overlap to maximise profit.

As a result I imagine the price tag will be significantly steeper than each of the 'individual' processors so as not to completely destroy the sales of their old stuff.

Post

My bet is $169 intro price (and maybe a $99 heavy hitter voucher ?). And I'm also waiting for the price to demo it.

Since opened the demo of Byome was working perfectly in Reaper newest version. Overnight came back to open Reaper and add Byome it now locks up Reaper, if I remove it Reaper is fine. So VST2 issue

Out of interest what is so special about G8? I've got it but never really used it, looks fairly bog standard to me, am i missing something?

has a nice "flip" function that lets you output either the normal gated signal or the signal that the gate is rejecting. Or both to separate tracks
I find the interface easy to work with - easier than some other more traditional gates

Aah, i can do that with Live's built in gate. Cool feature though.

Maybe i'll add it to the stuff i'm gonna need to sell if i want to get BYOME.

it is something I only heard about recently - mainly I like the interface and I got it cheap

that's about it for me as well - our exchange rate against the US dollar has been in heavy decline for a bit so a lot of stuff is now out of my price range. I'm actually trying to sell a lot of gear, but that is a very slow process no matter how cheap the prices are

Then just get GM's Quadrant over at PluginBoutique for 4.6EUR, because there's no way this will be $19... As a reference, NI's Molekular is $149, kHs' Toolbox costs $299 and SoundToys' 5 is $499. Not exactly the same things, but pretty close.

I am really hoping for some older plugin GUI love too! To be able to pick the base colours for Fault or Sandman Pro would be sweet. I am very visual when I make music and some songs are just green, or blue, you know?

Post

Yeah, BYOME looks really great and the GUI is also very intuitive. I think they did a great job on that.

Here are a few sound demos I made. You can always hear the dry sound for a few bars at the beginning in each demo and only one instance of BYOME was used in each demo.

I already posted these in the other thread, but it can't hurt to post the list here too, I suppose.
I'll try to record some more stuff later.

I'm having a lot of fun with this plugin so far :)
