Now that Tremor is kind of dead, what about UVI Drum Designer? Seems a very good alternative, even though the sound sources are not quite the same (samples powered engines versus pure synthesis, if I'm correct) and DD lacks, at least, polyrythm capabilities. What do you think, guys?

Post

Calm down and think about something else.

Post

Calm, I am.

I just want to know whether Drum Designer is a good replacement for discontinued Tremor.

I have a UVI Voucher of 100.- and I'm seriously considering buying DD. But I'm interested to know others ' opinion, particularly in relation to Tremor, which I already own but has no future.

Post

Or did you mean that DD is not worthy of any condideration at all ? Which would prompt the question : Why so ?

Post

I use imageline Drumaxx and Vcv modules for physically modelled percussion.

Tremor still works for me
Amazon: why not use an alternative

Post

Stix and Punch come to mind but Tremor still works and it's polyryhtm is pretty unique.

Edit: Microtonic also has very nice synthesized sounds and 1000's of presets in Patternarium.

Anybody wants to buy Tremor? There‘s one sleeping in my plugin folder...

Post

Yeah, Tremor is still up and running. But, how long will it last ? If ever there is a Geist 3 (Geist 2 can do polyrythm too) I hope they will add Tremor's engines into it, but is it realistic to have such an expectation (let alone the need to buy Tremor a second time with the upgrade) ?

Nobody speaks about Drums Designer. Is it too much of a gadget, or does this fairly new product need more time to be known and appreciated ?

And for me. And it will for a long time...

BTW, this gives Tremor an updated, more punchy sound:

I really really really wanted to love Tremor, but it just never worked out.

- I don't need a sequencer. Why does anyone, it's built into our DAW. Makes no sense to me whatsoever.
- The controls are so tiny. Remove that sequencer and beef up the size of the controls, now we're talking.

Soundwise, it was great.

yeah prefer to sequence stuff my self, and already have a trillion as good if not better sounding drum synths in my opinion. Love my house and techno, just never got into this one. Not really into FXpansion, there's something about their gear, never liked any of it really.

Yeah, mee too, at least a trillion. Can’t think of one off hand.
I just hope they keep authorizing it. Be nice if they just permanently unlocked it for us.
