No worries! The new features will be well thought out. They'll add fun, not obstacles. Which of course we'll need to try before we announce.MikeCallon wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:31 pm Sounds good Urs, but the 'some time next year' needs to really be nailed down. The problem with the 'plus a whole heap of more recent ideas!' philosophy is that it becomes a never ending wish-list .... and to be blunt, we end up with another Zebra3
Call it 'tough love'![]()

Urs wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:27 pm On top of fixes (from recent tech preview): We've actually hired a small army of preset designers to showcase the wavetables. But they only have just over two weeks of time, so we can't possibly reach the amount of factory presets we think Hive's wavetable engine deserves, this year. We wish to give them more time and a few more features for what we think is justified.

I just really hope that current UHMs will work in that future Hive 2.0 version

By minor fixes i mean the stuff that is after Wavetable and browser (whom are quite major improvements)Howard wrote: Fri Oct 26, 2018 2:18 pm Elektronisch: TBH I don't think the wavetable capability (plus presets) and the new browser count as as "just some minor fixes etc.".

Was really looking forward to seeing Hive in my Komplete Kontrol Factory list, but hey it’s not the end of the world, and TBH I've never really liked the current GUI. Happy that you build the synth you want, which is why I keep buying u-he, just remember to make a profit guys, I want you to stay in business...
Will wait till next year, and thanks for asking.

The whole thing about adding XY/Macro controls is about making NKS and similar controllers more useful for synths like Hive. It will allow parameters from both filters and all envelopes/osc/modulation be mapped to individual performance knobs, e.g. control both cutoff params with one knob. But this also means that every preset needs to be set up with it. Hence we added an automatic assignment algorithm, but it still needs human verification & fine tuning. Which, with thousands of presets, is quite a bit of work.

Sounds good to me! I actually like Hive's original GUI, so I wasn't waiting in the wings for that anyway. I'm just happy as a clown to have all these wonderful new wavetables to play with!
