method two involves using Valley's tut on seting up multiple outs with racks. All you have to do is go to the mixer page within ST, and adjust the outputs, which are the last options per line on the mixing page. You should be able to click and slide, choosing between 1+2, 3+4, 5+6. 7+8 etc up to 8 stereo outs. Once you do this, you then follow Valley's instructions on sending individual intances of racks to outputs of your choosing. At the end, you will have several tracks, all with a racks on them, which can have other filters applied and affect only the sounds coming from the particular outputs assigned for that track.

I hope that helps? Sorry, I don't really have time at the moment to check on my DAW and make sure of all the steps. Please let me know if these posts are not clear enough though, I will get back in the next day or two :)

Well. I think morelia's referring to how to assign different channel to different output. That can only be done inside of the plugin itself afaik...and I haven't seen one isn't so. Or did I misread again?

If he's referring to multi-timbrality, that's already explained by others in the above posts...
Ok. In that case you are totally right, and it is done in the ST mixer page (the red section). not in the host, although he still needs to set up a rack for tracktion to do anything with these extra outs.

I want e.g. Sampletank in a rack recieving midi dat from track 1 to play bass and midi data from track to to play piano. So the problem is where do I set which midi channel the individual track outputs to.

Post

morelia, it is in my post on page one of this thread, the second last post on that page. You set this in Tracktion not on a track basis, but on a MIDICLIP basis, via the setting for your midi controller. I don't know how else to explain it, sorry.
