Everybody with V6 will get the offer to upgrade to it for supa doopa 199$…
And in one year you can buy V7 for 250$ at NI...
That‘s a far better cash generation than subscription models!
I kinda agree, 5 was out summer 2016 and 6 last November IIRC so guessing it's a roughly 18 month release schedule. Does work out about £10 per instrument under the NI deal, but figure that the upgrade will work out at over £50 each for the additional instruments.
Have had enough, just cancelled a backorder for MiniBrute 2 with my local store. Was also thinking about MatrixBrute but payed a deposit for DSI Pro 2 instead.

Puts the "pricing" back into "loyalty pricing". ;)

Did Dancemidisamples.com disappear?

I suspect that NI is not going to sell it again in a year. It's most probably a one time offer.

If you check release dates history it's indeed probable that V7 will come out in the first half of next year.

Collection / Release / Months in between
IV / Dec 2014
V / May 2016 / 18 months
VI / Dec 2017 / 18 months
VII / May 2019? / 18 months?

Pretty abysmal pricing for existing XOSPHERE owners, this to me is a greedy pricing upgrade for loyal customers.
No wonder they had Xosphere on sale for $99 only a few months ago.. Im so glad I didnt bite then, Id feel mighty underwhelmed if I had, with the now superseded version just leaving a bad taste. Greedy to ask for near full price again (expensive price to begin with) and put a 'limited time offer' on it too. Bad bad vibes.

Sometimes you just have to say: NO!

Thanks for the reminder. I forgot to DL Xosphere after buying it at the end of September. Buying while traveling for work results in a lot of missed downloads.... :dog: :bang: :help:

There was a sale with Native Instruments a couple of months ago, just after their Christmas sale. I think it left a sour taste to many loyal customers.

Personally, I have upgraded since V2. And while there has been a degree of generosity from them earlier, there is none now. I would gladly pay $99 for the upgrade as I feel it is worth it. Now, through NI I can get a whole new license for the price of the upgrade through my Arturia account. Just a bad business model and non-supportive of those who MADE them.
For the last versions, I think they were doing a more expensive upgrade sale at release, then a cheaper one before the next version.
