Given that Steve Jobs died, Apple's market value is just crazy. Thanks Vort3x for the infographics link! I'll use that in class for my e-business students.

I spoke to the Sinevibes dev's and they hope to go VST as well, it's just a question of manpower and knowledge. (It was the same thing for our company back in the days actually - we started out on Macs and went cross-platform at the same time as Apple changed their audio protocol with the advent of OSX, and at the same time as the IT crash happened, causing our investors to withdraw. Too many negatives at once would be an understatement...)woggle wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 12:16 amyeah - I have often thought they could do well in the windows market - I guess there is either a strange ideological issue or they don't have the coding skills to make it worth while.SparkySpark wrote: Wed Oct 31, 2018 11:35 pm Hmmm... Sinevibes would still be my first choice. Seriously underrated (read inexpensive) and would blossom with VST support.
Another example is five12 with Numerology - if that had been released on Windows a few years back they would have made some good money.
Thanks for mentioning five12 (http://www.five12.com/). Very cool.

yeah, that's why i said "in stock" as in on the stock market.BertKoor wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 7:06 am That $1T is not money you'll ever see in one place. Market value, what is it worth. If tomorrow on the news they say Apple users live 5 years shorter, it's instantly worth nothing again.
i remember when a billion was actually a million x a million. and a trillion, a billion billions.
remember a few years back when trillions just "disappeared"?
i think i may know why...

Interesting... I thought the US trillion was equal to the British billion. Maybe the difference disappeared when Encyclopedia Brittanica collapsed and Wikipedia became the Unified Source of Truth.

In Sweden we have always had
Thousand
Million
Milliard
Billion
Billiard
Trillion
etc. In other words, we say there live a milliard people in China. It really confuses things when discussing high numbers internationally.

Same. I'm glad you can modify it, but it needs a bit of elegance and interface improvements.woggle wrote: Wed Oct 31, 2018 10:06 am I'd buy Reaper and improve the interface / usability. eg make it consistent, improve the aesthetics, make it the go to DAW for people with vision impairments and so on.

If I had the money to buy a big company I'd retire.
