If HG-2 is what you want wait until the end of the month and save your voucher. My guess is that either BF or Christmas it will be back at a reasonable price.

Waveform 9 does in fact run on the Pi. I did it the other day. I think that will be my new pad playing machine.

I would also just get a Raspberry Pi 3 B model for $35 use an old phone charger as a power source and buy a simple case $5. Just hook it up to any old monitor, slap in any old micro sd card and your good to go. Follow the guides and you should learn a ton and its a lot of fun personally. It should take about 10 hours of learning to get to the point where you have Waveform installed and running.

Be careful about the power supply - the pi can reset randomly and corrupt SD cards if the charger can't supply enough juice. Needs 2.5A IIRC. If youu have a decent power bank you can have a mobile solution. Some powerbanks have a pass-thru so you can use them while charging and get a cheap PI UPS.

Luckily your distro doesn't matter that much, Raspian is fine.

Audio interface is the included 3.5mm plug to a direct box in my live use case.

Linux plugins work but the CPU isn't anything to write home about. I use mainly just audio wav file stems and only basic gate and eq plugins from Waveform.

Geez, I found the analog audio output of my RBPi 3 Model B to be pretty horrible, even for playing Super Mario on RetroPie It gets the job of outputting an audio signal done, but any simple 2 channel USB soundcard will easily outperform the onboard RBPi output in terms of audio quality and latency! I'm using a Behringer UFO202, but basic support for audio interfaces is pretty great on linux! Support for more complex I/Os will vary, but getting a low latency stereo output from whatever audio interface you throw at it works nearly 100% of the time without any effort at all.

Maybe this is already in this thread - UVI (!) launched "The Walker", its a foley designer. Unfortunately it doesn't include either the Moonwalk, nor the stepping presets. But gave anyway an excuse for the UVI sound designers to dress in high heels...

I usually UVI products, but I will not walk, but run away from this one. Too niche for my taste.

How're people who own Izotope Music Production Bundle 2 + 08N2 approaching the upgrade to Music Production Suite 2? Do you sell Ozone 8 adv and Neutron 2 adv licenses and then upgrade to MPS 2 from MPB 2?

I've emailed Izotope but no answer thus far.

When I asked for a better deal since I have Ozone 8 adv, Nectar 2 Production Suite and RX7 Standard, they told me the $299 was the best they could do, but I was welcome to sell all but the product used for the upgrade (I'm guessing O8 as it is the only "advanced" product. Though technically, I guess Nectar Suite is advanced as well.
