Im not gonna spend more just because other people think it's a good price, and that goes for anything i buy that i dont need.
If you dont see value in this that is worth 100 dollars why to even suggest to make it lower, if you even think about something like on something that is already inexpensive, its just a clear answer that you dont need it :)

What still surprises me about kvr is that some people talk about buying synths in a way like it would be just to make a collection of plugins or just buying a tool not as a tool to use, something like what you see in a market store or general store near the cashier where products are placed that are inexpensive and focused on impulse buyers :)
its true i dont need it but if i did theyre are other cheaper options right now that arent made in flowstone. And i agree i thinks synths are like tools so its very hard to sell someone who owns a hammer a...hammer. Which is my point.

And i think its totally fine if there are people out there that like to play with and collect hammers if thats their thing. And i think viper could cash in on those people if it was cheaper.(even for a sale)

I didn't say you have to.

Then why tell me to reconsider my hobby? Seems a bit like you think i dont buy synths for the "correct reasons" like you.

For what reasons do you buy different synths then? I guess I just can't comprehend that sound isn't the main consideration.

I think it is a fair price.
It might be a bit of a niche synth in that some people might find Dune or Spire already close enough.

But the specific character of a synth is one of my main reasons why I buy a synth. The arp is also quite special.

But a black friday sale would be a good idea imo.
I buy most of my stuff in some sort of sale formula and i guess that's true for a lot of people here.

The features + the price. Then if those two things are good i focus on the sound.

Its not that i dont care about the sound at all, but more so that i care about the features and price more and take the sound into consideration afterwords. And i respect those that do appreciate the subtle differences between synths that i may not care about. But its of no concern to me if the price and features arent there first. But these are just my thoughts so take em with a hand full of salt.

Once you have a synth with a shitload of features then the most important difference is the sound. Why else would you buy several subtractive synths, VA synths, wave table synths...

A Moog is not an Arp is not a Cypher2 is not a ..

@Pyrotek45, Well if features are what you are looking for then Viper has: Frequency modulation, Ring modulation, Sync, PWM, user waveforms for the oscillators, Arp Swing, Arp midi out, true Unison and many more I wont list. Sylenth1 (one of my favourite synths) has none of that, and it costs 139€ (excluding VAT so it will cost even more when you buy it). Viper is only 89€ including VAT. Sure, Sylenth1 is on MAC but it took like 8 years until it did and it was always 139€, and yet it became one of the most popular synths.

Ok, fair enough. :)

Now on a second thought if its only about the features, then your DAW plugins offers basicly everything you need.

FL Studio has Sytrus, Harmless, GMS, 3osx, DIrectWave, Granulizer, SimSynth, DX10, MiniSynth :)

BTW, their 3osc is wonderful. Perhaps there's a reason its the only plugin they don't sell standalone.

I am starting to use at least one instance of Viper in every project I do. The sound is phenomenal and its not like I don't own other synths (just to put it in perspective, I use Omnisphere, Falcon, Avenger, Serum, Sylenth, Hive, Diva, Zebra, Icarus, Nemesis, Electra, Gladiator etc etc etc). I am planning to review it so Adam can get some more exposure. His soundsets are awesome, the FM8 and Zebra ones are great...I hope Adam will contact me to make some custom ones for me :). With all this going on about price, Viper is totally worth the $$ (I bought mine at full price). If you want that Virus sound, then this is it. I also use Omnisphere for that, but then they have the actually Virus waveforms as part of the new hardware integration feature. When I want Virus, I grab Viper. There can always be more features, but I don't buy for features. I want a certain sound first, features second. Everyone has a right to decide for themselves if its worth the price. However, if you think Sylenth, Serum and Diva are worth their price, then Viper is for sure worth it's price. The KVR marketplace is not the McDonald index of synth value.

Adam, or someone else with NI software - please check this: The Komplete Kontrol plugin doesn't seem to be able to reload the last saved Viper state/preset after re-open a project (at least not in Bitwig). It always reloads with the init "SQ Arena", which can be fatal...
