If you're patient, there's usually upgrade offers that appear at different times of the year so shouldn't cost anywhere close to that.

Yes, most of these are their normal discount prices and the Complete bundles are priced lower now than the last time they were on sale, which I think was around 18 months ago.

I'm sorry to hear it doesn't meet your expectations! According to their site, "To give you some feel for what you can do with snapins these first 6 are on the house!", which is followed by a picture of the 3-Band EQ, Delay, Limiter, Chorus, Gain, and Stereo. Are you not seeing those?

Do I buy now or wait for the official BF/end of year sale which may give me a better price? Any idea when the Thomann sale might end?

no idea - I figured even on special it would not be much lower so went for both it and Late Replies. I am going to get Patchwork as well but will wait for that one to come down a bit
