I'm guessing that "lowest upgrade price evaah" from last year was straight up BS then :scared:
On one hand that annoys me deeply because that original statement was completely unnecessary. One the other hand that also means that I can now safely ignore any intro offer for the next upgrade regardless of what they are claiming.

So I think Output lost me as a customer. I got Movement here for a good price, but not free. My purchase price for the remainder of the bundle was $401 yesterday (or something like that) Today, it is $560. The price for anyone off the street is $562. Even if I had gotten it for free? why would I think that a $2 discount was good? The whole benefit of getting a product for free is gone. It is a lot of money for something I may never use.

Same with me. I wonder why they changed it?!?!?!

I'm completely baffled by what Arturia has done here.

They absolutely said that $199 was going to be the best upgrade price they'd ever offer. I've absolutely believed them, and I've told people they were making a mistake waiting for a better offer.

I actually went ahead and sold my V Collection 5 and bought 6 at the $249 sale price from NI because I was confident I wasnt going to do better. I was taking them at their word that $199 was as low as the upgrade price would go.

And they're still slapping a "best price guarantee" on there

I unfortunately can't do anything about any of this. I feel like a bit of a sucker though for defending Arturia and telling people they shouldn't wait for a better deal.

I'm genuinely curious how they're going to handle 7 when it comes out. I assume they won't make this promise again.

You have a good reason for complaint and you should make some noise about it. I didn't believe it when the announced it so I sat on it until today - update for $99 or cheaper from JRRSHOP.

Do Captain Plugins ever go on sale?

Yeah, unfortunately I don't think there's much I can do about it other than complain and tell Arturia I've lost some trust in them. I sold my older V Collection license and I bought 6 from NI, so there's really no way for me to reverse it. At least it ended up being only a $50 mistake on my part.

My only problem is that they ever made the "best price you'll ever see" guarantee in the first place

I can't see an upgrade on JRR. Isn't the upgrade price customer specific?

Uncle E - will you be offering this?

Agreed, especially since they made such a big deal about it. A respectable company does not have it necessary to lie straight into your face.

Now waiting for Toontrack to follow suit with their constantly repeated "best SD3 upgrade price ever" claim.

I think they are all forgetting to add "so far" At the time they said it, they probably never planned to go lower. And then they needed money.....

I am waiting for a lower upgrade for SD3 - mostly because although I have it? I don't really use it. I use EZdrummer or AD2. So not a big loss to me if I did miss the "lowest price EVER!" LOL! So stupid to say that.

I guess what makes me more angry than the situation actually deserves is that I contacted them when they launched V.6. I needed some clarification regarding their intro offer and they made a big deal about the “now or never” statement.

Exactly.

And the reason so many people questioned it is that they really doubted they would never offer a better price.

Obviously they made the promise because they didn't want people to hold off upgrading at $199 waiting for a better deal.

I remember the Arturia thing being discussed at the time.

This kind of deceptive marketing has put me off buying anything of theirs now.

Then again, a few versions back the upgrade price for V Collection 4 from any Arturia software or hardware was $69 (compared to $199 now). Upgrade pricing has definitely been upgraded.
