FUSE AUDIO LABS BRINGS YOU THE ULTIMATE ALL IN ONE DRUM SOURCE UN- AND REMIXING SOLUTION.

ON SALE FOR $35 USD UNTIL DECEMBER 19TH! (REGULAR $89 USD)

ABOUT THE DRUMSSSX PLUGIN

DrumsSSX is an acronym that stands for Drum signal Source Separator and Re-mixer. It's an all in one solution that is aimed at separating acoustic mono or stereo drum recordings into their components so they can be remixed individually whenever there are no multitrack signals available.

DrumsSSX opens up a whole world of remixing and processing capabilities that are impossible to achieve using conventional tools like EQs, compressors, transient shapers or even multiband processors.

DrumsSSX includes
  • an advanced and trainable real-time NMF separation algorithm optimized for drum signals
  • a stereo → 5.1 unmixing mode for additional external processing
  • a musical 3-band linear phase EQ per instrument
  • an easy to use dynamics module per instrument
  • a full featured mixer
  • a powerful analyzer view
  • a set of versatile and customizable drum kit presets
Using DrumsSSX you can
  • re- and unmix exsiting mono or stereo drumset recordings where multitrack signals are unavailable
  • remove leakage from single drums sources, e.g. nasty sounding hi hat crosstalk on a snare track
  • create trigger signals for subsequent drum replacement
  • create all sorts of creative effects

Don't really have a need for this at the moment, but an interesting change from Fuse! Was not expecting this. Would love to hear some audio/video demos (not going to demo myself in case a need comes up later on).

Someone put this up on gearslutz.

I myself am trying it on RMX loops.
Really doing wonders with the control I get over my drum mix.
This is a reggae loop.... It was for me too boomy in the kick and the rim shot wasn't cutting thru enough.

(Usual dropbox caveats with kvr. that is they dont' play unless you download them or click on them and say open in a new window or tab)

Hey there FET,

I’ll add sound samples ASAP.

So this I like regroover Pro? Can input a loop, separate into component parts, and process each part? Don’t have time to demo at the moment at school.

Yes, that’s exactly what this whole concept is all about.

That video earlier in this thread was pretty impressive. If I was still tracking live drums (I'm half-seriously contemplating foregoing the dining room and just making that a drum room) I'd be all over this just for the debleeding. At the price it's a no-brainer for that particular use-case.

Copy paste from gearslutz and beta forum:

Here is a quick example (48kHz 16bit audio) of how useful this thing can be on overheads. You can literally "transform" the audio so that you get more space in your track for other stuff.

DrumSSX drum overhead cleanup example - Overheads only - SSX OFF.wav - Google Drive
DrumSSX drum overhead cleanup example - Overheads only - SSX ON.wav - Google Drive

DrumSSX drum overhead cleanup example - Close mikes included - SSX OFF.wav - Google Drive
DrumSSX drum overhead cleanup example - Close mikes included - SSX ON.wav - Google Drive

Note how profoundly I was able to change the tonality and space of the whole kit. This could NOT be done using conventional means because the initial transients of all the localized hits within the overheads get preserved and treated the way I wanted it to sound. Keep in mind that the close mikes are completely mono. This demonstrates very well how powerful the overhead miking is on a drumset when it comes to localization and overall naturalness of the drum kit, thus treating the overheads with SSX I'm able to radically twist and warp the drum signature and space.

I could have gone in the opposite direction too, making it all much fatter and the underlying room sound a lot more noticeable, but that same thing can sort of be done with a compressor as well (wouldn't sound the same though) so I thought this example is a more impressive demonstration of the power of SSX. :)

Cheers!

This looks like a fun plugin. Can this same tech also be extended to cover other instrument types?

Thanks v1o,

to answer your question: Yes it could, with drums however, it's easier to achieve reasonable separation results because of the fact they tend to generate more "discrete" note events and the instruments typically occupy their own distinct frequency band.

Any info on 1176 progress? :hyper:

Please check the first post for a quick video demonstration of what you can achieve using the DrumsSSX plugin.
