That ModulAir song of yours, though - so good. Filling my head with all kinds of ideas. I was about to make a lyrical tuba solo of a Jefferson ModulAirplane song when I realized it's too late in the night. Saved by the bell! Or the ModulAirhorn, as we like to say around here.

I feel compelled to admit- to my own annoyance- just how skillful you guys throw your punches, though. And your voice is quite impressive indeed! If you were to sing a song that doesn't make me want to drill my head into a wall, hoping the earworm would prefer mortar to brain mass, I'm sure it would be a total delight!

Pitch Wheel interpolation! Currently using the pitch wheel to control things like volume lead to crackles, since it's not interpolated during buffer processing. Doesn't take up too many processing cycles, I think, but makes a massive difference in potential!

At least for this one there is an immediate solution: Use the LAG processor! Whatever modulation source is fed into the LAG will come out "smoother". Since the rate/amount of smoothing is always debatable, I decided to leave it with this...

Anyway...here's the updated SaxyVib patch...
...I've also added (channel) Aftertouch for the vibrato/tremolo.

(Grrr, I keep realizing what else is possible and add stuff to it, haha. Now p.bend will also adjust timbre, or rather cutoff. Aftertouch is also LAGGED for AA and this thing starts sounding really, really smooth!)

Any tip on offsetting LFO phase?

With the "fat" LFO you can use RESET to restart it; adjust its phase with the PHASE knob. Typically you'd use "Voice" for RESET since this will restart the LFO with the individual voice (when polyphony is set to "1" there is of course no difference to "Multiple").

AH, shiiit, hahaha, you caught my message before I could delete that silly question. I was referring to the DualLFO, of course, but just wanted to kind of crack a joke...bad one. Anyway....you did, however, point me towards "reset", which I had 100% ignored. (me!)

I'm very close to slapping myself also for profusely not reading the manual, but is there a legato portamento? And, though really weird, not quite sure, if pleasantly achievable, but it would be uncanny in brilliance, if portamento could also go through the LAG processor. I'm in love with that one now, by the way!

The only joke here is the manual, it is crap and way below my own standards...

No, there is no legato portamento (yet?). "Portamento" itself is the "keyboard voltage" run through a dedicated LAG processor - that's how I came to add a LAG module for other modulation signals to the FB-3300 and ModulAir, too.

Attached is a patch for creating your own "homebrewn" portamento (the patch in the right image is similar but saves one FM plug in the Oscillator module). However, you will note a funny "portamento overshoot" since the LAG is indeed just a lowpass filter.

Awww, man, this is ... really, I hope you don't mind me say that, but I feel right at home with your mindset. It's so close to my own. Just wonderful.
I'm playing around with making a string patch. I've started with a really simple one, using slightly detuned dualOSCs and running pitch bend through different amounts of LAG to get these nice speed offsets for each. They also have slightly different LFOs with note controlling rate and so on... it already sounds kind of exciting.
When you said you don't get to make a song with it, because you're getting lost in making patches... yep, right there with you, too! Just a pleasure.
Additional things I'd love to have was velocity based attack, for example, but I feel like with enough exploration I might just figure that out, too. Love how closed it seems, but how open it actually is. Any addition to the stuff is likely like an entirely new treasure. Pretty massive!
Well, Björn, thank you for yet another stunning gift. I apologize for my initial complaints. I'm always the one, who says and thinks that one must not focus on the weaknesses, but the powers. And powers this has PLENTY!
