Please tell me all the bugs and weak spots, too - if possible per mail so I won't forget!

Anyway, the best is yet to come... as always. :hihi:
Version 0.9.0 will feature the mighty Master modules (and of course new and improved modules, too).
But that is a pretty hefty functional update, so I will not release it before this OSC is over.

Cheers, Björn

Post

Though it gives you time to keep refining stuff, it's also missing the chance to automatically run it by the merciless and highly engaging OSC crowd, of course. But, yeah, it's the 22nd...ah well. I can't wait, that's for sure! :hyper:

Can't wait, Björn!

Post

Hi Bjorn, will the new Master module allow for modulation of ADSR parameters?

I do wonder, if I should keep annoying you guys with presets, but I'm working on these violins right now, which are really kind of simple at this point, but it's so much fun to play with them. You kind of have to play them "right" to get their qualities to come out, but it's really not bad already. Super basic foundation, though, just using SAWs, but well.

Anyway, not much control on vibrato, yet, but I'm excited enough about those to see, if you'd confirm that I'm on to something with this?! Sometimes, when you design a sound, it can happen that your fantasy takes you away from "reality" so much, that by the end only you believe they have some real qualities. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Taron, no annoyance at all! Nice patch. I don't have a mod wheel anymore either, so changing the LFO depth mod source from env to vel and turning it to max had an interesting effect.

Yeah, I was going to do an "ADDER" with vel, but decided against it in favor of Aftertouch instead, because even softly played violins can have heavy vibrato, if so desired, you know. COOL, THANKS, though! They do play quite nicely in Marcato and/or Staccato. Especially in the higher notes, of course.:violin:

Never had aftertouch here. Definitely something I've been missing.

That snippet sounds awesome!

Yes, please keep up the 'annoyance' - it is a very educational and helpful irritation :D

Post

UH, well then I shall continue relentlessly! :hihi:
Very happy you appreciate it, zarf!

Here's a curious little Oboe patch. Feels interesting. As it happens quite frequently, this is not what I initially wanted to make, but when this sort of tone came out, I couldn't resist and followed it's calling, so to say.

Just goofing around, I ended up with this "Lyrical Mayhem" and then, well...called it Lyrical Mayhem. Play rather short notes and pretend it was mono- rather than poly. Kinda fun and eerie.
BEWARE, though, because I did a bit of a feedback loop in the DELAY, which you could turn down for a clean sound and prevent poor ModelAir from freaking out over time, actually. But in the beginning it creates some really nice dirt in the background. :hihi:

I do wonder... on average, how many "final" mixdowns do you guys do for your entries? I must surely be on my 30th now - and about 10 reups to Soundcloud! I always do that, though, so it's not a competition thing. Compulsive much??

I'm way, way, waaaaaay too lazy to do more mixdowns than the occasional second or third revision. Most of the time it's a one-off, but I mostly hold on to it until I'm convinced it's ok to upload it. I've managed to curb my impatience to share unless I'm extraordinarily excited about showing it off, so to say, hehehe.
Well, I'll go listen to your latest then. :phones:

Yeah, the kick is just right now, really nice! :tu:

Thanks, good man! For all its frustrations, I do love the mixing part, and training my ears, so to speak, so that has a lot to do with it.
