I've noticed lately that i experience denormal-like CPU-spikes when using racks. I thought it was plugin-related but i've done some testing and it turns out to be pretty unpredictable.
Rest is stable.
Has anyone experienced the same thing?
System:
AMD64 3200+ processor
MSI K8T Neo mobo
512MB RAM
Cool 'n Quiet enabled
Rest is stable.

Yes I experienced exactly the same thing.
Even with simple send racks.

It depends how you use it, I suppose.
A way to have it is the following:
Say you have 8 track drum.
Now put on each track an aux send rack (simple true of both audio channels) and put the aux send allso on a new track (the aux track). Put a reverb on the aux track.
I have CPU spikes when playing this.
Win XP
Intel 3.x Hz
1 Gb Memory

If you're just using it for send, try Senderella. Maybe that wont have CPU spikes. Although I've used Racks as a send, and to deal with multiple-out VST's ,and to make effect chain inserts hundreds of times with no CPU spikes.

It must be me then. I've had it on my Pentium 4 and now on my Athlon 64. Maybe some plugin-combinations are buggy (combinations with Blockfish?).

One of my edits had Fl Studio VSTi inside a rack and was very unstable. Stuttering at startup and sometimes during the song too.
As an experiment i've removed Fl Studio from the rack and lo and behold: The stuttering has gone. There IS something going on with the racks, at least on my setup.

Never mind. It's happening to me now even without racks. I suspect it is something else. Could it be RAM?

To be honnest I'm not sure it is a ROM issue.
I recently added 512 MB to my PC, so no I have 1GB. I was very surprised to see that my CPU usage went up

I think i found the evil plugs. They are Guitifier, the last version and Blockfish. They make my system go crazy! I'm using Tubebaby and the new Vanilla Compressor now and all is well. I guess i'll put Guitifier back on the track when rendering.
