Rapidcomposer is really great. The developer has a forum here and is very responsive to fixes and suggestions. Updated regularly for years.OneOfManyPauls wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 11:17 amMM is nice enough, and it has some good features like the constantly changing freestyle mode, but if you feel you may want more from a helper app, it's worth checking out rapidcomposer. Also offer your opinion on MM.
It's worth persevering with the interface if that puts you off initially, as you can go as deep or shallow as you want/need. I wish I'd done this sooner rather than buying a bunch of lighter-weight helper apps, as it would have saved me money.

For simple bare-bones chords and scales inspiration rather than generating sequences, the InstaSeries bundle is cheap right now and might be worth a punt

Spitfire usually does a Wish List sale at Xmas - put items on your wish list and get personalized coupons for them. That's probably your best bet for the deepest discount - I think last year it was 40%?frank1985 wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 1:56 pm Does anyone know if spitfire audio normally have sales in January? What about the other big names like native instruments?
Native Instruments... is having a sale right now.

RapidComposer seems like a very capable program.
The cost and complexity of the RapidComposer is the deal breaker for me.

I am afraid that when I buy MidiMadness for $59 the next day it will appear on vstbuzz for $9.95.Caine123 wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 12:13 pmIm in the same situation and it seems to have not gotten lower and not many at all carry this pluginKalamata Kid wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 7:05 am Has anyone seen Midi Madness lower than $60?

Rapid composer seems more complex and great but too fiddly for my taste and ugly. Im a sucker for nicer guis and workflow and not a 2nd daw....
I would buy without hesitation for 19.95.
I am glad RapidCompoaser was suggested earlier but I am in agreement with you that it may be too complicated at least for me.

Embertone strings bundle is on sale now at APD. Great stuff.Ou_Tis wrote: Fri Nov 23, 2018 6:46 pm 20% off at Embertone, Friedlander violin for $79.20... is that likely to be the cheapest high quality solo violin that doesn't require the full version of Kontakt? Any 3rd party sellers for additional discount/rewards? I'm waiting on the annoying "new deal every 8 hours" thing from Audioplugin.deals....

Morphestra 2 at 149$ is a really great deal for all the quality stuff included.

I am also interested in Captain Chords. Do they ever have a sale? I did some research and didn't see anything. Only ADSR and MixedinKey carries them. ADSR has a sale going on but CP is excluded.Kalamata Kid wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 2:44 pmWill consider Captain Chords next time they are on sale.VariKusBrainZ wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 1:21 pmMaybe the mixedinkey Captin plugins will suit you, simplified compared to RC but still powerful and reasonably priced, some of the Windows versions are still to be released but you'll receive them when they are.Caine123 wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 12:13 pmIm in the same situation and it seems to have not gotten lower and not many at all carry this pluginKalamata Kid wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 7:05 am Has anyone seen Midi Madness lower than $60?

MixedInKey is the developer of Captain Chords. They don’t do sales. You get a discount if you have/buy Odesi but that’s it.satYatunes wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 2:52 pmI am also interested in Captain Chords. Do they ever have a sale? This sale is both a blessing and a curse - there are so many options. I think I’ve narrowed things down to the Albion orchestras, which I’ve just seen are on sale. IYO what is the most ‘laid back’ library? I predominantly compose minimalist ambient, drones, atmospheres etc. So I guess I’m after soft articulations, massive room tone etc. To my ears, after listening to some demos, Albion V Tundra appears to be the one best suited for this - can anyone who provide further clarification?

at least they offer a 30 day money back guarantee - which I ended up using. I wish more developers would offer this as I'd be more willing to take a punt.mgw38 wrote: Sun Nov 25, 2018 3:18 pmMixedInKey is the developer of Captain Chords. They don’t do sales.
