Hmm, got the email from MF that they cancelled the Softube order, but they haven't yet bothered to refund me. The charge has just been sitting there in my bank account as "processing" since Wednesday. Nice.

I bought the EZKeys String Machine + Free EZKeys expansion from Plugin Boutique during black friday, registered my String Machine serial but didnt get the expansion serial. I emailed PB and they said "sorry for the confusion" and that Toontrack didnt offer the free expansion during black friday. PB offered me a choice of 3 midi paks (those $10 ones that were offered). I bought the deal because of the expansion not the string machine which to me is ok at best.. Ive requested a refund as I didnt get what was advertised. Do they have grounds to refuse a refund?

PB are reasonable people if necessary. I did get a refund for a misrepresented item once. Just be persistent.

Yeah, I got that email, too. I replied that it wouldn't be worth pursuing unless they could also offer the $39 price. Suggested that they re-instantiate the sale. Guess we'll see...pekbro wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 11:12 pm Ha, tc electronic just got back to me and manually added a trial lic for the VGP bundle to my iLok
account.

From the error message I got when I tried to validate my iLok name on their site, it looks like the cert has been expired since sometime in 2017. Guessing that they're not used to actually selling any of their software.

What throws me off a bit is that MAAT actually has some nice software. I do like their meters quite a bit. They are also priced appropriately.hhuang9611 wrote: Wed Nov 28, 2018 1:04 amThis really blows my mindmgw38 wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 10:08 pm For those who still have some money left, here is a real bargain:

To make matters even weirder is that this EQ requires its own physical dongle. No software license possible. You need a special Wibu dongle to run it (although a Reason Ignitionkey should work as well).

THIS.ghettosynth wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 7:17 pmRight !?! I still haven't heard either, expecting a cancellation. I don't really care TBH. I only bought it to bank it for a future discount on Vol 2.lachrimae wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 7:07 pm RE: Summit Audio Grand Channel & MFers
Honestly, it saved me $19. I was using the demo license while I waited and just couldn't fall in love with it (possibly just didn't try it on the right material).
I bet that many people who were buying this didn't really care about the product, per se, and were buying it for similar reasons. They should have just swallowed the bitter pill and delivered the licenses. Pricing error or not, future deals will be compared to this one. "Remember that time", "yeah that was a pricing error", "yeah, too bad I didn't get that deal."
That's just human nature. Had they delivered the licenses people would have been stoked to upgrade to vol2 gloating over their win and extolling how great Softube was for honoring the error, and Softube would be selling a boatload of vol2 licenses to people who were on the fence in the first place but now willing to get in because of their good luck.
Now people will feel bitterness towards Softube and, bonus (not), since people demod the product and were left unimpressed are less likely to buy other Softube products. Error or not, this leaves an imprint in people's minds that their modeled console isn't even worth $19.
It's like something I'd write.
This is what companies need to realize. They should honor those who are upset to ensure an increase in future sales that otherwise would never occur. Companies need to study up on TVM (Time Value of Money) to learn why their shortsightedness is backwards. Slate, Output I'm looking at you.
Thank you ghettosynth. Makes me feel like I'm not the only one who sees this so clearly.

This too. Yep. See. Further proof others see this the same way. Thanks songshark for sharing it too.songshark wrote: Tue Nov 27, 2018 8:29 pm The more I think about it, the more it irks me. Ghettosynth's right. It leaves a bad taste re: Softube. I don't know how many orders there were, but I'm confident the bulk of them were simply due to price -- not people dying to have Grand Channel -- or who would ever even consider buying at regular prices.
That being the case -- and since we're talking about software -- Softube wouldn't really "lose" much money to just go ahead and honor it. I think they risk losing a lot more $ -- in people feeling pissed off toward Softube as a result of this. And in missing the opportunity of people using the incentive to upgrade. Plus, assuming MF isn't lying and it was entirely Softube's fault -- they have left MF hung out to dry with their customers.
This result seems like a classic "lose-lose-lose" to me. Oh well.
Companies... please. For your sake and ours start getting this stuff right. Don't have such shortsighted thinking and behavior.

They claim it's a linear phase EQ without audible pre-ring or echo. I don't have the time to test it, but this claims to avoid the irrevocable mathematical consequences of EQ, which is a pretty big deal. However, they are stuck in the land of 1990s plugin pricing and I don't want a dongle centipede again.hhuang9611 wrote: Wed Nov 28, 2018 1:04 am This really blows my mind... Talked to Musician's Friend today. Guy said he thinks it was their fault and not Softube's. Said there were a lot of other pricing errors on website.
