I am having this issue too. Win 8.1 64bitdRowAudio wrote:@gavindi, are you seeing this on Linux or Windows? I think this is a problem with the new per-monitor DPI awareness features which is causing problems if the global scale factor changes whilst the app is open. Restarting should fix this (and keep the scale factor you set). I think this is a JUCE issue though and the person who works on this area is on holiday at the moment so will have to wait a week or so...gavindi wrote:Actually I noticed this too but I forgot to mention it. So, +1 here.....PierreG wrote: Update: Graphics issues are far deeper than what I described above. I just tried to change the Display Scale in the Settings / Appearance tab to see if this would help with the popup message text issue and discovered that changing the display scale completely throws off mouse pointer location mapping. I had to poke around for a good bit to get back into the scaling box to get it back to 100%, which resolves the mapping issue.
But,if I immediately close W9 after setting the new display scale and the restart W9, It's at the new size AND the mouse pointer location is set correctly. It seems it only fully sets the rescale correctly upon start rather than when the scale change occurs.

Thanks for the additional info. I know this is a problem on Windows, hopefully this will get sorted soon.
I'm surprised if this is happening on Linux though?

Hi!
Im using Waveform on Kubuntu 18.04 aside Tracktion7.
1. Waveform crashes at startup - deleting .config/tracktion helped, but when i installed Collective plugin it started crashing again, when splash screen says Initialising.
Running it with LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcurl.so.4.5.0 Waveform9
commands works.
2. When i set loop points an turn looping on, Waveform doesnt play first midi note from step or midi clip, when i turn looping on first note is played.
3. Metronome gets out of sync with picture and recording midi. When i set "use loud thicks to emphasise bars" at higher tempos (ex. 180 bpm) it starts with a quiet note and recording is about 1 beat late (first note isn't recorded and all notes are "shifted" left. At lower tempos there is a delay brtween hitting "record" and metronome sound. Recorded notes are "shifted" right.

I've been having first note problems too with W9 (under linux) and I've reported it through here and their bug tracker. My workaround has been to set the first note of the clip to x.x.001 (yup, that +001 makes all the difference). I'm not entirely certain but I think the problem goes away when the VST and the clip are both set to MPE. I need to test this more when I get a moment.don_ortalion wrote:Hi!

Gavindi, thanks for the workaround.
I have 2 questions.
Where can i find theid bug tracker?
What is MPE?
I found another problems:
1. Plugins are always on top, and clicking on W9 UI doesn't hide them. But it is hidden by plugin window. I know that i can move it.
2. If i have few tracks some of them from the top stop responding or just the "input thing" - i cant open right click menu on them, but i can drag input from another track.
3. When im in midi editor, select some notes with "CTRL+left click" and try to move them with "SHIFT+UP ARROW", notes aren't moving but instead W9 selects files in the file browser. If file browser is hidden it works ok.
4. As in p.3 when i press up or down arrow it zooms tracks, and doesn't select notes in midi editor.

I have the same problem. Waveform 9.3.6 beta on macOS Mojave. If I place the in- and out marker around the midi or step clip and switch on loop, the first note isn't played. Please fix.don_ortalion wrote: Fri Aug 31, 2018 10:21 pm

Every time I've looked in to this it's been a synth-specific problem.
As far as I can tell, it's synths that can't handle an all-notes-off message at the start of the MIDI block and note-on messages later in that block. They seem to just see the all-notes-off and bail out which isn't correct behaviour.
We send the all-notes-off message when looping round to stop any hanging notes from the end of the loop.

Thank you for your response. I'm facing this issue with the built-in Sampler. I use it to trigger a bass drum sample via a step clip. When I place the in marker at the beggining of the step clip (loop mode on in the transport section), the first bass drum hit does not play.
So does it mean it's an issue of the built-in Sampler?
