Received a 2days (29.-30.) Audiodeluxe offer:
Arturia 6+Waves Gold or Arturia 6+Ozone 8 for $249.

The links are leading into Nirvana so I decided to place it here instead of NoChat.
Nothing for me but maybe of interest.

Lovely! Quite fond of these rhythmic engines. I’ve got Aeon but this one from SampleLogic takes the crown. Expeditions indeed.

Would one be required to provide a mobile/cellphone number in order to take advantage of these?

I sure didn’t. And never do. Just followed the link. Happy camper I am.

Phone number is a required field for sign-up at APD. OK, it doesn't have to be a mobile but I think I only avoided the SMS spam because I entered my work number, which is remappable and seems to have some kind of magical protection against telemarketing courtesy of having a weird prefix.

My home landline can actually receive SMS – a robo-voice reads them out. So, I'm never entering that one.

Obviously, you can fill in a fake number but I'm always a bit hesitant about doing that as there is a risk of some poor unfortunate getting my spam. I'm not aware of an equivalent for the Hollywood 555 where I live.

I'm thinking about grabbing the AAS Modeling collection offer that's going right now. Thoughts?

If you like physical-modelling synths, it's a winner. As a collection it goes from must-have (Chromaphone) to maybe not so great in 2018 (Virtual Analog). VA-2 can be a bit frustrating to program as it's not as flexible as some of the competition. You're either going to love or hate Lounge Lizard. String Studio has a lot of depth and straddles synth and physical modelling really well - it's very good for basses that sound kinda virtual analogue but aren't. Strum suffers from the same uncanny valley problems as all the other autoplay guitar sims. But with some care and attention it can work.

What's in it that intrigues you? Have you tried any demos? I never cared much about any of those items except for VA2, and the light version isn't that great. I know I'd probably prefer Arturia V collection.

I grabbed it a few months ago for $99. Great price for the value given. Paks are expensive though, but I seem to get free ones here and there from different offers. I imagine someday we'll get a bulk price deal . Hopefully.

Some great sounds though. I'm into Ultra Analog's sounds. And the Objeq Delay is very nice. Also like the physical modeling of Chromaphone as it gives a very clear sound being generated sounds. Strum is also pretty nice for adding acoustic parts. Overall a great little package. Was on my want list for years, but finally the price came down enough once I had several of the session versions in my account. Worth it.

Not sure if he'll extend it or do much more with it in future upgrades, but he supports it very well customer service wise.

Found out that for those that bought Toontrack EZkeys String Machines on sale during Black Friday, if you waited after Black Friday week before registering it, you can now do it and get another EZkeys expansion for free!

Chromaphone is one of the best sounding and most interesting VSTs on the market for me. Totally in my top 5 of all times towards the upper end.
String Studio I find quite interesting, Strum is okayish, Ultra Analog as well, I don't have the Lounge Lizard.
The sound packs are very different in their interesstingness - be sure to listen to the demos - there are brilliant ones and others I don't care for at all. Everything by Daniel Stawczyk isn't for me somehow.
AAS as a company is one of my all time favourites. I always had very nice and fast feedback.
My only complaint is, that there won't be an up to date Tassman ever... :-(

Cheers,

Tom

Well, shoot. I should have waited. It's not like there was any hurry to do it.

Same here. I bought mine from Pluginboutique and they have just refunded me my money as mine didnt register a free expansion (to be fair when I bought the deal I wasn't aware there was an error where expansion wouldn't be offered despite being advertised
