I'm going to pretend like this isn't probably also true for EZDrummer2.

Well, shoot. I should have waited. It's not like there was any hurry to do it.
I was about to do it, but downloading and installing the "product manager" was enough of a hassle for me to put it off.

If you like physical-modelling synths, it's a winner. As a collection it goes from must-have (Chromaphone) to maybe not so great in 2018 (Virtual Analog). VA-2 can be a bit frustrating to program as it's not as flexible as some of the competition. You're either going to love or hate Lounge Lizard. String Studio has a lot of depth and straddles synth and physical modelling really well - it's very good for basses that sound kinda virtual analogue but aren't. Strum suffers from the same uncanny valley problems as all the other autoplay guitar sims. But with some care and attention it can work.

What's in it that intrigues you? Have you tried any demos? I never cared much about any of those items except for VA2, and the light version isn't that great. I know I'd probably prefer Arturia V collection.
Chromophone is the primary driver of my interest for the pack. VA looks pretty good as well, at least for some instant gratification simplicity.

Too bad I snoozed in that V collection with Soundtoys bundle on Reverb. Though I already have Soundtoys, I idly wondered if I could have sold my current bundle and be left with some money left over .... an well.

I’m gonna look more at Arturia.

There is a Arturia V collection + Waves Gold bundle on AudioDeluxe site for 249$ , maybe worth checking that out.

That’s not a bad deal. Not really a Waves fan, but I wonder if I could sell the Gold bundle separately ....

Or would Ozone 8 have better resale value?

Rats I am sad that I missed the $66 Cypher upgrade sale. That came and went without me noticing.

Do Fabfilter upgrades ever go on sale? I know the full version licenses go on sale as well as bundles, but what about upgrades from one version to another of a plugin?

Post

Anyone know if the DDMF utilities ever go on sale? I'm looking at picking up Bridgewise and V.A.R.
