Adding MDrummer sample hits to a track w/o a MIDI device ?

Hello,

(Feel free to skip the following. It's more rambling than anything else as I started to post too early w/o proper investigation :ud: Anyways, feel free to share any approach in such a use case )

I have a track with MDrummer as the main drums which could benefit from some drum hits here and there like cymbal clashes and such. Without having to modify drum patterns and modifying the drum programming. Just simple quick and easy cymbal hits here and there. Very likely in drum pad mode.

I can program the drum pads on a MIDI keyboard to activate the MDrummer drum pads (they are not at the moment, or just some of them) and record the hits as the track play along or, is there a way to add MDrummer sounds from a drum set w/o using a MIDI keyboard ? This would be here a 2nd instance of MDrummer doing that, the first instance being the main beat.

Alternatively, is there a mapping of drum pads to MIDI notes around ? I could find out by programming the drum pads on the keyboard, although is there a reference or is it a standard of some sort ?

OK, found out that the MIDI note is clearly shown when editing a drum pad, in
the Advanced parameters. So I can put record MIDI notes where drum hits are needed.

Cheers.

Yes it is possible to do this. Add midi notes on channel 10 on the midi track. Channel 10 will just play the drum sound and not the pattern.

That's great as it means that both the commands for MDrummer and the individual notes can be on the same track. Should be able to do that in Bitwig. OTOH, it might be useful to have distinct tracks to keep it more clearer. Thanks for the tip.
