Got another joke, actually real story, and highly applicable.
Two Dutch guys entered an Antwerp bar and ordered two local beers. “That’ll be four euros”, the bartender said. After a while, they ordered the same and got charged six euros. They looked at each other and thought: “wonderful, we got our first round cheap.” Feeling happy and lucky, they ordered a third round, but the bartender now charged them eight euros. So they argued with him and said: “First you charge us four, then six, and then eight euros, for the same two beers?” The bartender replied: “Yep, the longer you’re staying, the more it’ll cost you.”
Morale: get out of the bar, guys.

In SPL DrumXchanger, can you only replace one kit piece on a track or is it possible to replace say, kick and snare, on the same track with a single instance of the plug?
Thanks in advance,
G

I’ve decided to never buy another PA plugin. I bought a bunch of PA plugins from different sellers before the policy change (while I was under the impression I could just sell them if I didn’t like them). I don’t care if PA wants to change their policy, but I think it is wrong of them to retroactively apply the new policy to all plugins transferred before the policy change. Had this policy been in place when I had actually bought the plugins I did, I would never have bought them.
It’s only right for the policy to only apply to transfers occurring after the policy change. I don’t know how it’s possible to justify making up a new rule, and applying it to things that occurred before the rule existed. Is it even legal??

I agree it's a rather strange marketing move. I used to pay over $100 for some of them thinking if I would end up not using them that much overtime, I could at least get 40%-50% back. At this point, resale would be like Waves... If you buy them you'll have to keep them forever so you want to make sure you will truly have an use for them.martinjuenke wrote: Sat Dec 01, 2018 10:37 am... and all these PA offers in the Sell&Buy thread will dry up in future... That thread will become a sad location...systmu wrote: Sat Dec 01, 2018 10:04 am No PA voucher this month.

They could have also taken away the $20 fee if they become NFR... at least.systmu wrote: Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:11 pm They retroactively applied it? And they collected $20 license transfer for each of those transfers. WOW!
Or not, really, it's a business decision after all, and it's their business. But good practice is also to let your customers know. I still have to get an email from them explaining. I found out about this through this forum...

Yes, Plugin Alliance has done a questionable move to make a lot of plugins NFR overnight. I wonder if all PA offerings are reflecting these changed rules. I‘m sure that a lot of these sell items are no longer transferable.

I bet they do. My $25 vouchers finally ran out. I emailed them and asked if I don't get them anymore or resend if I accidentally deleted it. I wasn't suppose to get any more and they gave me one for being a loyal customer.dandezebra wrote: Sat Dec 01, 2018 1:50 pm I might contact PA and find out if everyone will now get an extra month added to their voucher calculations. I am at $75 now so 1) I've spent a lot and 2) would be silly if I dropped after this month.

They would probably have been smarter to increase the cost to resell the license every time it gets sold. 1st time $20, 2nd resale $25, 3rd resale $30,... That would either stop resales or give them more money. It also would stop the devaluation in that it would be cheaper to buy most new than used. Or just say you can't use your voucher to pay the transfer fee. I'm assuming they lose a lot of money because they allow that.

Some people do feel entitled because they were told by PA if they spend a certain amount of money they would be given a bonus rebate ergo voucher each month. A contract if you will. The Highest tier which cost many dollars and caused many people to purchase unneeded and unnecessary plugins to reach said tier.Feelshallright wrote: Sat Dec 01, 2018 2:28 pm It’s funny how people act like they are entitled to get a PA voucher. Looks like they don’t care in the end what is the final sale price.

wow that PA's notice about license transfer is bad. I'm not sure what's the situation there, but they are at a disadvantage in my opinion.
they are too close to UA to go HW or to release the really new badass plugins (a lot of their badass plugins are only available at UAD).
Waves, Slate, NI are still able to cash some really nice money with HW sales. but PA is just getting behind so fast in the "total amount" a company can take from a customer. they still have elysia tough, a company that I have HW and admire it.
