I haven't heard much about 3.0 lately. Is it still in active development and will it be released in the near future?

Post

Probably the relative silence means Bulent is hard at work on v3 :) I'm looking forward to it as well; hopefully we'll see it sometime in the first half of 2019.

Guys, it's not gonna be released in the near future. unfortunately I am divided in between multiple projects, so don't expect anything before summer 2019. thank you for your patience.

No worries. In the meantime we will continue to enjoy SM just as it is. It still has a few bugs though. Can we expect those to be addressed?

I have been meaning to send you a report. Off the top of my head...

Dissappering text on second layer wavetable settings.
some modulations that dont operate as expected.

I will post steps to recreate as well as DAW and OS tomorrow

The no text bug is with the wavetable oscillator voice parameters.

select Osc 1
choose wavetable oscillator
cliick on the voice tab ( bottom right of osc section )

There is no text above the parameter knobs
They function but no text.

I was unable to find the modulation anomalies. I will report the next time it shows up.

Reaper 64, Latest Win 7 64

I use SM alot so it shouldn't be too long.

See the latest official announcement below, this is the reason why I purchased it and it is still available on the official page as of today:

"SynthMaster 'Everything Bundle' also includes free free upgrade to SynthMaster v3.0, which is expected to be released at the end of 2018."

Keep in mind that most especially the big developers keep total silence as to the release dates and their new product features. I prefer that a developer communicate and allow them to be wrong about release dates. But on the other hand if I spend money I would be a bit pissed off if the advertised release date was not met. Still I would rather be disappointed occasionally than have total silence from the developer. Well disappointed and pissed off.

The key words are “expected to be”.

TBH, i vastly prefer developers who don't promise anything, when they know that "life could happen". It is naive to think that you won't raise expectations, when you announce that something will be available at this or that date.

Post

As far as I know, there is only one full time developer at KV331 Audio. So that would explain a lot, compared with the big companies.

Since the "expected" date has been slipping all year, I have decided to just be happy with SM3 whenever it gets here. Bulent has already added some cool "unexpected" free new features to SM2.

But I am curious now about what are these other projects that are taking up so much of his time? :hyper:
Windows 10 and too many plugins

Man....except for a wavetable editor and more layers. Which most folk will never use, what do you really need to have. SM 2.9 is a beast with a gazillion presets. It sounds good, It is fun to work with. Spend some time with the quality product that you have, then hope for more.....if you need it.

Well I agree with Scrubbing Monkeys... This has a lot of bugs, for example when you want to make a supersaw synth and you increase the voices to 16, the CPU goes insanely high and it's ridiculous. It never happens in other synths. Synthmaster One has some weird bugs too, for example I've made a preset that eats all the CPU, I don't know why... It happens to you or it's just me? Here I attatch the preset
