So you buy the win and mac verison separately?

Post

No. That wouldn't make sense. It's just that there has been the introductory price for the Mac version when it was released half a year ago and everybody who bought it back then will have access to the PC version as promised.

I'm pretty sure this new Early Access period also includes the Mac version again. So if you missed the sale back then now will probably be a good time to get it.

Yep, $99.
Apparently that price upon the PC version release announcement.

I found the following info from a recent news mail:
Windows Gullfoss

We know that many of you are awaiting the release with varying amounts of patience and impatience. We’re avid consumers of audio software, so we know exactly where you’re coming from.

We had hoped to be able to show off an early-not-quite-beta-release (ENQBR) of Windows Gullfoss at AES. But, we didn’t quite make it.

We aim to start beta testing the Windows version by December.

The beta test program is heavily oversubscribed and we expect significant feedback from a large survey of beta testers.

We are working our hardest to get the Windows version released before the end of January 2019.

What is the pricing for Gullfoss going to be at the time of the Windows release?

When we release the Windows version of Gullfoss there will be an early access phase that will last for a few months. Throughout early access the price will be $99 or equivalent. We expect that the Windows version will go through many periodic releases as we proactively deal with specific issues that are fed back by customers. This is very similar to the process after the launch of the Mac version in early 2018. Once the Windows version is stable we’ll announce the end of early access, and with one month’s warning, the price will revert to $199.

How does this affect the pricing of the Mac version of Gullfoss?

In general, a license for Gullfoss can be used on a Mac or Windows version (once Windows is released). But, during Windows early access there will be one caveat. Any user can purchase a license for $99, but the half-price licenses will not be able to be used on Mac until we are out of early access. This could be as late as April 2019. This means that you will not be able to use your $99 license on Mac for a period of a few months. You will, however, be able to purchase a license which can be used on Mac for a 20% discounted price of $159 during Windows early access.

I have the three of them and they are very different. Trying to simplify, really a lot:

Gullfoss removes masking (especially in low and middle frequencies) and makes your sounds regain sharpness and definition.
Any low and low/middle frequency "mud" is removed and the sound is wonderfully detailed.

Soothe is specifically good in removing resonances (especially in the middle/high and high range) and taming shrill and harsh high frequencies, eliminating any harshness.
So, any high frequency harshness is removed, in this case (almost like in a "super-deesser").

Sonible Smart EQ 2 is useful as a hint for a proper dynamic equalization of specific instruments (each instrument has a specific EQ profile and more profiles will be added in the future), by automatically and dynamically comparing an ideal situation with your actual audio.

Of course, my description is terribly simplified and awfully summarized.
