Just wondering.
Is it possible to install/copy Zebra on a USB Stick to carry it around?
I am often at work on other PCs with some time to experiment and I would love to have a prtable Zebra with me.
Also, if technically possible, does the license allow this kind of use?

receptor install option on the installer should do the trick?

Urs supplied a no-install version of Uhbik (though not for the latest beta), so I don't think he would mind too much. Of course its up to the man himself.

The final version of 2.5 will allow you to use a Windows Shortcut to point to its support files. You could then just drag the .dll on any other pc and amke a shortcut to the support folder on your usb stick.

You can however also install and register Zebra on that pc, but I'd advise to delete the registration file (com.u-he.Zebra2.user.txt) afterwards because if that one gets leaked, it'll be blackbanned in future updates.

Cheers,

;) Urs

Will Zebra work with Wine under Linux? Has anybody tried this?

It works on Receptor - which is a Wine based Linux VST system. Try the pre-installed version though (below the normal downloads on Zebra's downloads page)

Great and thanks for not using an invasive copy protection scheme. :-)

I'm about to build a new linux based DAW and I'd love to add my Zebra to the sound sources. 8)

tried copying the "Receptor" version, but under VSTHost running on a flash drive can see only Zebralette...no sign of zebra..

Sorry for necroposting, but I'd like to make a feature request for Zebra 2 - make a portable version. Maybe do like dropbox where it asks for the admin permission, but if you say "no" it continues to install anyway. Just a zipped version would be fine too.

The install of Zebra2 is portable once installed (on Windows at least). All the data it uses is relative to the Zebra2.data folder.
Feel free to call me Brian.
