Here's a slow, brooding and dark ambient piece that has MDrummer doing some 'improvisations' as much as it decided which fills to play. No two playing of the same piece were completely identical.

I though of posting this latest piece here just to show the capabilities of MDrummer. I certainly did not toil over drum pattern programming. I actually did not do any pattern programming at all. MDrummer is such a versatile tool and I only know maybe 15% of it. Looking forward to eventually know a lot more.

Perhaps just a little warning: if you're in a festive mood you might not appreciate the gloominess of the piece

Cheers.

Update December 2nd: Many MDrummer hits were edited in the mix so that they reflect less linearity and provides more warmth. The sound of the drums were also made a bit fuller.

I realize now that I should have switched from the original 1-track MDrummer to the 16-track version so that for instance the toms would have received a better treatement at mix time. Although this could also have been done earlier inside MDrummer by adjusting the toms parameters.

Cheers.

I actually prefer using the 1-out and tweaking everything in MDrummer. Makes my projects a lot cleaner to look at and easier to work with.

PS- I was typing this as I listened to your clip. I'm going to go jump off the roof now. Lol.

There's also another advantage at mixing inside MDrummer: the mixed kit can be saved for other projects. Who knows, maybe the toms are always too loud in MDrummer :D

December 6th: I rebalanced the drums to take some oomph away that was uncalled for after all. And to make a somewhat more enveloping bass. I feel the MDrummer drums shines even better with this more natural approach. The drums are actually starting at 1:10 into the piece.

Cheers.
