Tx no external sound card or interface, directly out of Mac line out. Only with the BlueCat Patchwork stand alone though.tasmaniandevil wrote: Tue Dec 11, 2018 10:56 amPlease see my comment directly before this one, it's a sound card issue. We'll try to get to the bottom of this. Maybe we can finally reproduce the issue with Patchwork...woodsdenis wrote: Tue Dec 11, 2018 12:52 pmTx no external sound card or interface, directly out of Mac line out. I tried at 64, 128, 256 and 512... typically I'm on 256 @ 88.2khz... it's really something going on with Hive, I'm convinced of it now that I see that someone else with an uncommon host gets the same issue... like I said, I never heard a pipsqueak from bazille, ace, podolski, zebracm or repro, it's just Hive. but it's just a minor annoyance, it doesn't come back during a session once it's sorted out.tasmaniandevil wrote: Tue Dec 11, 2018 10:54 am If you are getting clicks in the left channel, then that's a problem with your sound card and the buffer size you chose.
E.g. Focusrite sound cards are especially prone to this issue.
Please try to set the buffer to an exact multiple of 16 samples, e.g. to 128 or 256.
And if using FL Studio, it might help to activate an option called "use fixed sized buffers".
btw, how come there's no new TAS in the new presets?

Interesting! But then why are there some strange artifacts appearing at the edges of some images at certain zoom levels (not necessarily on all skins, but I'm pretty sure I saw something weird happening in that MFM2 reskin)?Urs wrote: Mon Dec 10, 2018 8:19 pmHehehe, the UI is (mostly) designed in a 10 pixel raster at 100%. So all controls scale in full integer pixel sizes between 70% and 200%. However, fonts aren't all set to 10px at 100%, but they still round towards integer sizes. So I guess what happens is, a font rounding quickly, outgrowing the clipping rectangle.EvilDragon wrote: Mon Dec 10, 2018 7:21 pmWe really need 75/125/175% zoom levels, they should produce less quantization errors...
This would also possibly happen in 75/125/175% zoom levels.

Yes, it's a problem happening only in Hive. But typically, it is tied to using some specific sound cards with some specific settings. And setting it to a multiple of 16 samples cures the problem in most cases. But obviously not in all cases, sadly.acYm wrote: Tue Dec 11, 2018 11:43 pm I tried at 64, 128, 256 and 512... typically I'm on 256 @ 88.2khz... it's really something going on with Hive
Since we didn't yet figure out what exactly is causing it, this workaround of trying different buffer sizes or using the mentioned option in FL Studio is the only help we can offer.
I am sure we'll figure this out at some point, and then provide a fix for it.
If it's so easily reproducible with this specific host, we might have to try to get a version of it.
Maybe this will help us figure it out.
Because Urs keeps me extremely busy with trying to figure out bugs like the one you just mentioned.
This leaves no time for sound design (hey, this did rhyme).
I would have loved to do some sounds, because after initially not being a huge fan of wavetables, I was struck by what Urs and the crew came up with for Hive, and I could stare at the wavetable animation in the hexagon for hours, because it's so mesmerizing.
There might be a few Twangström presets from me in its factory library, once this one is released (if I manage to polish them a little more). But there is no time for making synth presets right now.

You can fix that by going into the Hive.txt or Hive_honey text file and changing the font size from 9 to 8.. or make it bigger to 10 which is preferable.lengro wrote: Mon Dec 10, 2018 5:58 pm A _very_ small graphical nitpick - the 'f' in 'finetune' at 120% is missing vertical pixels (also a bit at 140%).
DEFAULT type='Font' property='FontSize' id='0' value=' 10 '
Then search for Finetune and change it to something shorter.. such as Fi-TUNE, For example.
PROPERTY control='Label 3011' name='labeltext' id='0' value='FI-TUNE'
TRANPOSE is next to it, so you might want to change that to ''TRAN'.
Alternately, you can try lower case letters for these instead.

Is there already a fixed build which I could download?Urs wrote: Tue Dec 11, 2018 10:17 am A stupid niggle: .uhm files do not automatically reload when changed. I'll fix this in the next few days and post a latest build for those who need it.

Should be up in a few days... we're just doing internal testing and hope to release it before the weekend.
