I just thought I'd share some thoughts about the original SonicSynth a year or so after purchase.

Originally, I liked SonicSynth but was put off by some instruments/patches.

You know - all this time later SonicSynth still is used more than anything else in my kit. It has saved me from buying much more expensive samplesets still allowing me to produce music of sufficient quality to get by.

I have done a little composing for television here and there and I tell you what - SonicSynth is the workhorse for it.

Additionally, it is fantastic as a general sound module to sketch out ideas.

At this stage SampleTank 2 is pretty much the only VSTi on my shopping list and one day - when I'm not so financially challenged I will make a purchase. Of course, now that SonikSynth 2 is coming I'll have to go through the agony of working out which one is more appropriate.

But the important thing is that I think I can really appreciate the value of this tool now that it has saved my arse a few times. It's a very safe investment as far as I'm concerned.

Good job to all involved.

I'm with with you there.

I remember just weeks after I bought Sonic Synth 1, I had to do a soundtrack to a theatre production. Tell you what, those orchestral textures were a real life-saver! 8)

Forever,

Kim.

Wait until you hear the NEW orchestral textures in SS2! ... and the vocal textures as well.

:( Haha,

First upgrade Cubase SL1 to SL3 when it comes out.

Almost out of money. :scared:

Well not completely, but there are priorities.

Nice. What did you use for the warbly Lyle pad in the background?

Thanx for listening.

The warbling sound hahaa. Very simple: it is one of your own :D .

SS1/ Synth pads / Ice fortress.

I edited the release times of the different zones. Just raised them a bit. The chord is played as a fast arpeggio (Cmaj7 root position, but that you figured already I gues :D ). I saw how Lyle did it

Since I am not a keyboard player and never owned a synt (well a D20, but just used it as a sequenser workstation) and am just learning all these things, I was really wondering how to obtain that warbling sound. Even been posting on forums to ask how it is done.

Et Voila. Here I have it right (well almost) out of the box. Thank you!

I cannot thank you enough for the group bundel deal and the great sound of SS1, The libraries and the studio drum capsule I bought afterwoods.

Use it now all the time as my first sound resource.
I have some little remarks here and there (I will comment / review soon, also on my site). I posted by the way a reply to Epointz on Esoundz topic, please read.
