Originally, I liked SonicSynth but was put off by some instruments/patches.
You know - all this time later SonicSynth still is used more than anything else in my kit. It has saved me from buying much more expensive samplesets still allowing me to produce music of sufficient quality to get by.
I have done a little composing for television here and there and I tell you what - SonicSynth is the workhorse for it.
Additionally, it is fantastic as a general sound module to sketch out ideas.
At this stage SampleTank 2 is pretty much the only VSTi on my shopping list and one day - when I'm not so financially challenged I will make a purchase. Of course, now that SonikSynth 2 is coming I'll have to go through the agony of working out which one is more appropriate.
But the important thing is that I think I can really appreciate the value of this tool now that it has saved my arse a few times. It's a very safe investment as far as I'm concerned.
