I paid the 39 bucks for the bundle upgrade and got OBJEQ delay and the VS-3 upgrade. Great price as I am very impressed with the delay (resonator) plug and it had passed me by before. VS-3 is not a major update but 2 layers are very useful and it sounds great- some nice new presets as well. AAS plugs look old fashioned, small and fugly to me but they sound great....Ultra Analog is still one of the most overlooked and best sounding VSTs ever made.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I like it too - don't know if I'd quite go so far as to call it 'best sounding' but it does sound very good and is definitely underrated.

They kind of lost me when they dropped Tassman.

 oh boy!!! :scared:

What........?

I did buy their modeling collection, and it does pretty much cover what Tassman could do,
but they kept stringing people along for a long time before finally abandoning it.
i'm sorry, you didn't get my strange humor. do you know, how this beast above is called? ... and now your phrase: "They kind of lost me, when they dropped Tassman."
ok. a joke, that has to be explained, is not a good joke ... :hihi:

Dunno about 'best sounding' either but it sure is one of my top 3 synth VST and it's been a huge help towards getting rid of the rest of my hardware synths.

The story of that beast is actually a sad story.
There‘s a very good film around it:

That looks interesting, thanks for the hint!

It's definitely an improvement over the previous version from what I have gathered from the list of added features, but I wish they would properly emulate a fretboard and neck of a guitar. You can get close but it's still hard to do just with CC automation.

Sounds like a very interesting, but equally depressing movie.
From the box office takings, I guess it was barely shown in the US.
I get the connection, but I would hardly call it a joke.

I was a bit confused after I got the AAS email and found two alternatives in my account: VS-3 upgrade + String Theory for $39 and VS-3 upgrade + String Theory + Objeq Delay for, er… $39! :o

Surprise – in the end I settled for the later alternative :hihi: and I'm very happy that I did.

String Studio VS-3 is a beautiful and inspiring instrument with oodles of cool presets. The two layers take it to the next level, I think and the icing on the cake was Objeq Delay, which proved much more interesting than I suspected. $39 well spent!

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

I finally pulled the trigger as well, couldn't resist any longer and I'm glad AAS let you keep VS-2. No idea what to do with the extra Strum instrument though …

While I have a very soft spot for physical modelling and definitely love Chromaphone and to a lesser degree String Studio, adding effects and "improving" the GUI isn't very satisfying in the long run.

AAS would be hard pressed if there were any real competition in the physical modelling realm.

The only thing I'd really like to have outside of further improving and extending the models and abilities would be MPE support for all of them.

Cheers,

Tom
Well spoken. Their stuff would be particularly fitting for MPE compatible controllers. Would be a must-buy almost. Last time I asked for MPE was for Tassman, back when it wasn't deprecated yet - so the "considering" phase still goes on...
Perhaps they just still get so much money from the Live Suite sales that everything that isn't in hand distance from their hammock (with the hand that isn't holding the cocktail) is not considered worth the stretch :P

FANTASTIC!! I just upgraded, installed, and launched . . . I'm excited and can't wait to start playing. I was worried about my VS-1+2 sound packs, but I contacted AAS . . . YES, all previous packs have been updated for V3. I really dig the way these guys operate. It's obvious they are musicians! They create sweet-sounding soft synths that are user-friendly, and they always have sales.

I'm a fanboy and proud!! ;-)

Do we have to download and reinstall all the sound packs to use them in Version 3?

No it seems to just locate them automatically. Even the NKS ones get upgraded to load in 3 (which is impressive attention to detail)
