I use Hybrid, love it, and have absolutely no problems with the iLok software license manager.

Some Hybrid Theory. Get Hybrid together with xpand2 then you have a great selection of bread and butter sounds for most genres.

Stop wasting your time looking for synths and samples to start out with: Xpand, Hybrid and SampleTank free (for the piano) go a long way.
