haia dear T users,

When applying several automation cuves on a track,
is there a way to delete selected curves from the track without deleting the destination filter itself?

2nd question
How can you assign midicontrollers to a filter
thats not the first in line on a track.
I have dedicated hardware controllers for this
but for example if i insert battery first (most left
in row )on a track and then an fx plugin and i want to control for ex . delay time of that fx plugin
(wich is second in the row) with a assigned midicntrlnum it doesn't receive the controller , unless it is first in the row, how can i make it work
without beeing first filter?

Thanx

Double-click any point on the curve to delete it. You also get a "delete all points" button (or something like that; I'm at work atm) at the bottom of the screen

You have a choice. Either:

1. Route the battery track to another track, and insert the delay plug as the first filter on the new track.

2. Drop all filters into a rack; now you can manually route MIDI to any filter that requires it.

Thanx for the reply platinumears

I know you can delete the points of the curve ,
but when theyre all removed it still leaves a
flat curve (blue, with still an assigned control destination, i want to delete) , my question was 'how do i delete the whole curve 'when multiple curves are present on a track without deleting the filter itself.

Question 2 is answered.

Click the a button and select hide automation curves.

whats a flat curve? :?

if you mean the flat line thats left when all points are deleted, I think that just indicates the current control value..?

You can hide the automation if it bothers you.. or do i misunderstand?

Hi replyers

I also know you can hide it , i just want to
REMOVE the flat or dotted curve , or multiple assigned automation curves from that track without removing
the whole filter where the automation curves are linked to.

No hide
i want to remove it,if possible (i came from cubase sx you know ;-)

I think the idea is that even if the "curve" is a straight line it's "still there" if hidden or not. if you see what I mean. if its a line it moves with the (eg) volume slider. so conceptually if you could delete for eg the volume curve - there would be no volume at all.
works for me. another example of big J's alternative thought patterns?

My understanding is that *all* parameters are permanently automated. The flat line *is* a deleted line.

You are trying to solve a non-existant problem.

To see which parameters have active automation curves, right click on the filter, or the little 'A' symbol, and look at the parameter list. If one or more of the entries are in green, then they have automation curves.

I know that too, look it's a mental thing.
I like the idea that you can add something to a program, but you should be able to remove what you add, otherwise i feel like everytime you add an automation curve, the lock falls in place behind me,
because you can't totally erase what you added,
the curve entry's will still be in the drop lists
under the 'A' symbol even if all the points of the curve are removed, i like to be able to set it to its original state before i added automation curves.

The only way it seems is to delete the filter and to reassign it, that deletes the traces.

It's not a big flaw, it feels unfinished.
The comment that all the controllers are wired in place from the start is a plausible one though.

Its not a flaw at all. When you first choose to view the automation for a plug-in the line shows the perameter's current state. Move the selected perameter and you will see the whole line move aswell. The only way to NOT see the line is to hide the automation. Viewing the automation without it showing the current state would be a big flaw.
