MTurboDelay Digital device

maybe (again, sigh...) i am not understanding something...when i choose the "Digital" device, the Reverse doesn't work: i can enable it, but not choose any of the speeds, they are all greyed out whether enabled or not. similarly, with the Sync button, only the Length control, which is sync'ed to the beat, works, even if i deselect "Sync." the "Delay" control does nothing, whether Sync is enabled or not.
am i missing some way to activate these controls? seeking of which, TurboDelay is activated on my computer, and i'm using 12.0.9 - i get the same results in Digital Performer and GigPerformer.

some of the devices (e.g.. Echo Man) also seem to introduce a strange latency even when only the dry signal is passed, which disappears if the plugin is bypassed in my DAW. this latency has some other odd characteristics.

thanks, that's what i figured. i want to use it in GigPerformer live, but it causes latency throughout the chain, even on the direct signal, even when i run the direct in parallel so it doesn't pass through the delay.

I will check it out for you. I did hear someone mention that MXXX was not reporting the latency correctly to the host. So maybe it is a bug? I'll get back to you.

I am still looking into the latency issue you reported.
To make sure I understand. MTurboDelay is not having its latency compensated by the DAW?
Side note about the artefacts of "Echo Man" device.
There are a bunch of FX that can be inside the feedback loop. It is impossible to process the audio through this FX and then send the signal back into the input without any time delay. The shortest possible is 1 sample, but this is extremely high CPU to do that. So the sort of smearing sound that you hear is the time it takes to process the FX and then send it back to the input. This side effect is something that cannot be changed. You can turn down the "Character feedback" to make it go away. Personally, I think it sounds good with the slight delay shift as this device is not intended to be a super accurate digital delay anyway. It is for emulating vintage hardware delays and a lot of those had tape in them and inaccuracies and shifting was very normal. The real gem of this device is that the FX can be after or inside the feedback loop or anywhere in between. Even just using the EQ in this way adds so much cool character to the delay tails.

jmg8, I think it would be very insightful for there to be video demonstrations of the devices' functions as envisioned by the creators. If you don't have the time or interest in doing them, perhaps you could write out or script one for someone who can.
Note: I don't believe that I would be such a candidate!

Time is a big issue here for me. I am working on lots of stuff. If anyone is interested in doing a video I would be willing to help out and explain things. Chandler already made 2 videos but he focused mostly on the devices that he made. Maybe he has plans to make another? Not sure.
